Your grant has allowed us to purchase valuable equipment and materials that will help us create more inclusive, engaging, and meaningful experiences for our students with disabilities in Federal Way Public Schools.\r\n\r\nMany of our students face unique challenges when participating in traditional physical education activities. Having equipment that can be adapted to their individual needs allows us to provide opportunities for every student to participate, build confidence, and experience success.\r\n\r\nWith your generous grant, we are able to purchase a heat press and T-shirts for our Adapted PE Field Day. The heat press allowed us to create team shirts for our students, helping make Field Day an exciting and memorable event while giving students a greater sense of belonging and team spirit. Having their own Field Day shirts made the experience even more special and helped us celebrate each student's participation and accomplishments.\r\n\r\nWith your help, we were also able to purchase ankle weights for students with limited mobility to use during activities in the weight room. These help us to provide additional opportunities for students to safely work on strength, mobility, and individualized fitness goals based on their abilities.\r\n\r\nFinally, your support provided us with a bean bag chair for sensory breaks. Some of our students benefit from having a comfortable, calming space where they can take a short break when they become overwhelmed or need help regulating before returning to an activity. Providing this space helps us better support students' sensory needs while encouraging successful participation in physical education.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these materials extends far beyond physical fitness. They help our students develop confidence, independence, social connections, and a sense of belonging. Most importantly, they allow us to meet students where they are and provide opportunities for them to participate and succeed alongside their peers.\r\n\r\nThank you for your generosity and for believing in the importance of adapted physical education. Your support helps us create meaningful experiences for our students and ensures that every child has an opportunity to participate, grow, and feel celebrated.","fullyFundedDate":1780510644211,"projectUrl":"project/adapt-play-achieve/10313514/","projectTitle":"Adapt, Play, Achieve","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Roohi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8885242_orig.jpg?crop=316,316,x39,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694630489442","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8885242"},{"teacherId":3498913,"projectId":9779242,"letterContent":"Thank you again for supporting this project.
