Your generosity has made it possible for me to purchase a year subscription of the Let's Find Out magazine for my kindergarten class. This is a weekly subscription filled with high interest and relatable topics for kindergartners. They are excited for Magazine Monday every week.\r\n\r\nEach week Scholastic provides me with several useful teaching tools. We start with a introduction video that provides background knowledge kindergartners can understand. We then listen to a read aloud of the magazine. The back page of the magazine includes an activity that's connected to the topic while also practicing a skill. For example, the kindergartners had to answer yes/no questions about a picture showing animals in the winter. Another time, the kindergartners had to answer questions about a graph. In addition, I will often use extension activities that Scholastic includes. For example, I have used the labeling parts of an owl and pumpkin activity pages. This is great practice for finding the beginning and ending sounds, noticing that different letters make, different words, and fine motor skills.","fullyFundedDate":1720617143964,"projectUrl":"project/nonfiction-for-kindergartners/8409101/","projectTitle":"Nonfiction for Kindergartners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Daun","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5887372_orig.jpg?crop=3733,3733,x0,y520&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1566286120566","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5887372"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35519","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":446,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":43,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":58.5,"schoolId":35519,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Crestline Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Crestline Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/evergreen-school-district-114/crestline-elementary-school/35519"}
