This was such a special gift to my students, most come from low income houses who do not have many art supplies in their homes.\r\n\r\nMost of my students had not ever worked with Model Magic before. I love this media because it is easy to work with, dries quickly without an oven, doesn't make too much of a mess AND it can be colored with markers or painted.\r\n\r\nWe took a short break from out regular curriculum to play a bit with the model magic. I wanted to offer a fun and engaging project around the idea of texture. My students used the model magic to create AMAZING dragon eyes. With your generous gift I only had to buy the glass pieces, we had everything else! \r\n\r\nStudents were super interested and they created some amazing dragon eyes! Every student was engaged and the finished pieces were stunning. So stunning in fact, that I decided to send several on to the district art show! Thank you so very much for helping to support my middle school art classroom by giving me these wonderful silicone ice cube trays for paint sets.\r\n\r\nThe students and I were very excited to get these. I filled each one with the primary colors: blue, red, and yellow. Then I added black and white paint as well. I put the lids on and they worked great for distribution of the paints without them drying out!!\r\n\r\nI am so happy to report that these worked great! As you can image, middle schoolers often pour too much paint and we end up wasting a lot. By using these paint sets, students can take out what they need to mix on a paper plate or plastic palette, the lids do keep the paints pretty nice. These are a great size that do not take up too much space!! These were just wonderful for our color unit. Students began by making their own color wheel by mixing all the colors from the primary colors. Later, they designed a room of their choosing and decided which color scheme they would use. They mixed all the colors for their color scheme from the colors in these paint sets... wonderful!!\r\n\r\nThank you so very much for your support!!
