This arrangement moves beyond traditional desks to provide a dynamic learning environment that caters to different student needs and work styles.\r\n\r\nI leverage the flexible seating model for a variety of instructional purposes. It supports facilitating small group instruction, allowing me to easily cluster students for targeted lessons, one-on-one conferencing, and collaborative projects. Furthermore, it is heavily used during independent work times, where students are empowered to choose a setting that best supports their focus, whether it be a cozy floor cushion, a wobble stool, or a standing desk. This choice promotes student agency, increases engagement, and fosters a greater sense of ownership over their learning space. The result is a more active, adaptable, and productivity-focused classroom atmosphere.\r\n\r\nOur dedicated multilingual library has been incredibly useful and a necessary resource for all of my students. It is particularly impactful for students who's native language is Spanish, providing them with valuable access to literature in their home language, which strongly supports literacy development and comprehension.\r\n\r\nBeyond supporting native Spanish speakers, this resource is a vital tool for the entire class. It offers all students the unique opportunity to explore books in a different language and opens their minds to different cultures and stories.","fullyFundedDate":1698282871072,"projectUrl":"project/choice-seating-and-multilingual-library/7469067/","projectTitle":"Choice Seating and Multilingual Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kim","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9086557"},{"teacherId":6005749,"projectId":9871795,"letterContent":"This has been a really wonderful gift for our classroom. Every now and then a book comes along that students truly feel seen by, and Fish In A Tree is one of those books. I have almost every student in my class personally connecting and identifying with the main character. We have started to have deeper conversations about the book and students are begging to read just one more chapter. It's been really amazing to see the class excited for reading. A few students even took their copy home because they didn't want to stop reading it. \r\nIt's been fantastic. Your support for the next generation of learners is already having a profound and visible impact on my students' academic lives. Thank you so much for your commitment to education.\r\n\r\nThe new decodable books have been nothing short of a transformational resource in our literacy block. These are not just more books; they are targeted tools that directly address a foundational need for many of my emerging readers.\r\n\r\nI have strategically integrated these books into my small-group reading instruction. For students who grapple with traditional reading materials, these decodable texts offer a crucial bridge. The books allow students to focus on the core process of decoding words—applying the phonics rules they learn to successfully sound out a word—instead of relying on guessing or picture clues.\r\n\r\nYour donation is directly responsible for these essential reading victories and for supporting the next generation as they develop into strong, independent readers. The students are already using these comfortable, high-quality headphones during their computer-based assignments and assessments. The ability to minimize noise distractions has resulted in a marked improvement in their focus and concentration, allowing them to truly maximize their time and do their best work.\r\n\r\nBeyond the academic boost, this donation relieved a significant financial burden for many of our families. When I announced that headphones would no longer need to be added to their school supply lists, the relief from parents was palpable. Knowing that every child has this essential tool, regardless of their family's budget, has been wonderful for creating an equitable and stress-free learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe students are incredibly grateful and happy to have their own comfortable, reliable headphones. Thank you for investing in their success, their comfort, and their ability to focus. Your contribution has made a truly significant impact, particularly for our students who are still developing their reading skills.\r\n\r\nBefore your generosity, many of my students struggled with texts that were too challenging. They faced the frustration of encountering unfamiliar words, making reading a less enjoyable and often daunting experience. This led to a disengagement that no educator wants to see.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, we were able to purchase a variety of leveled readers that are perfectly suited to their needs. Now, these students are experiencing the joy of reading books at their own level. They are building confidence, improving fluency, and discovering the pleasure that comes from reading without constant struggle.\r\n\r\nI've witnessed firsthand the transformation in their attitudes towards reading. They are now eager to pick up a book, participate in discussions, and share their newfound reading successes. This is a direct result of your kindness and commitment to supporting young readers.\r\n\r\nYour donation has not just provided books; it has provided access to a world of knowledge and imagination for students who needed it most.
