We finally have protective cases for the classroom set of ukuleles. Grades 5 and 6 have just started ukuleles this year and the new cases make a world of difference.\r\nThe past few years, the ukuleles have been in boxes that have been falling apart for my students have been very excited about using proper cases. This will also help me teach the importance of taking care of instruments with my students.\r\nOur next steps will be to take care of the cases so that the ukuleles can last for years to come. With K-2 we play drum beat games where they need to follow the steady beat in their bodies and with other instruments. In 3rd-6th grade, students have been practicing hand drumming techniques.\r\nMy students get very excited any time we get any new instruments. Of course, everyone wants to play the new and shiny instrument. I explain to them that these items were donated by generous people and they are grateful.\r\nMy next steps are to create more Donors Choose projects to get some more drums. They were thrilled to see that the whiteboards have both a blank side and a lined side.
