I have used the iPad almost daily with my students individually and in small groups. The most significant impact has been with my minimally or emerging verbal students where I can introduce them to AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) using picture symbols and generated speech to be a voice for them. It has opened the world of communication! By using the donated device I am able to identify what program and what vocabulary would be best for them. I am also able to model using the device. In small groups I can use apps and other activities to provide targeted and engaging intervention.
