Your kindness and generosity have made a lasting impact on our school community, and your support means more than words can express.\r\n\r\nThe behavioral room is a space designed to provide students with the tools and environment they need to regulate emotions, practice coping strategies, and build positive relationships. Thanks to your thoughtful donations, this room has become a safe, welcoming place where students can take a moment to breathe, reset, and learn skills that will serve them for a lifetime.\r\n\r\nEach item you donated—whether it was sensory tools, snacks, art supplies, fidget toys, games, or comfort items—has helped transform the room into a calming, supportive space that truly meets the needs of our students. These materials don't just fill shelves or bins; they help create moments of peace for a child who might be struggling, spark a smile during a tough day, and give students the opportunity to practice emotional growth in a nurturing setting.\r\n\r\nYour donations have already made a visible difference. Students who once found it difficult to stay engaged in class now have a place where they can calm their minds and refocus. Teachers have noticed improvements in emotional regulation, communication, and confidence. And most importantly, students feel seen, supported, and valued. These changes wouldn't be possible without your compassion and willingness to give.\r\n\r\nWe believe that education is not only about academics, but also about helping every child grow into a kind, resilient, and emotionally strong individual. The behavioral room embodies that mission—and your generosity has helped make it possible. When a student picks up a sensory tool to calm their hands, or curls up with a weighted blanket after a challenging moment, they are benefiting directly from your kindness.\r\n\r\nYour contributions remind us that it truly takes a community to support a child's success. You have shown our students that there are people who care about their well-being and believe in their potential. For many of them, that sense of belonging and support can make all the difference.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us—teachers, staff, and students alike—thank you for helping us build a space that promotes understanding, empathy, and growth. Your generosity has not only filled a room with resources, but filled hearts with hope. We are deeply appreciative of your partnership and the belief you've shown in our mission.\r\n\r\nTogether, we are creating a positive environment where every student feels safe to learn, grow, and be themselves. Students gathered around the boxes, pointing out games they recognized and asking how to play the ones that were new to them. For many, this was their very first time seeing or holding these kinds of games, and the joy on their faces said it all.\r\n\r\nWe've already started using them during indoor recess (which, in Washington, is quite often!). One memorable moment was watching a group of fourth graders teach a game to a pair of first graders. They not only explained the rules but encouraged them through each turn—demonstrating teamwork, patience, and kindness without any prompting from adults. These moments of cooperative play are exactly what we hoped for when we dreamed up this project.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to create a school-wide \"Game Leaders\" program where older students will help facilitate and rotate the games during indoor recess. This will allow more students to learn new games, build leadership skills, and create connections across grade levels. Thanks to your generosity, indoor recess is no longer just a time to \"pass the time\"—it's becoming a place where friendships grow, critical thinking is practiced, and our school community becomes even stronger.","fullyFundedDate":1743262250111,"projectUrl":"project/rainy-day-fun-board-games-for-learning/9010753/","projectTitle":"Rainy Day Fun: Board Games for Learning and Positive Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bennett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6599479_orig.jpg?crop=528,528,x660,y300&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734472805776","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6599479"},{"teacherId":9894359,"projectId":9187891,"letterContent":"On behalf of the students I serve, I want to express our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation to provide snacks.
