We have so many students who come to the Counseling Office that require a backpack and other school supplies. Your donation has enabled our students to start their day with dignity and feel prepared to take on the day ahead.\r\n\r\nSo far this school year, we have provided 8 backpacks to students. Some of these students were brand new to our building whose family had little funds to provide the supplies needed. Other students came to the Counseling Office and shared that their backpack had been ripped from wear and tear, and they couldn't go on with their day carrying all of their supplies up and down the stairs. Regardless, our students were always thankful to receive a backpack from us and were extra excited that there were so many options of colors to choose from.\r\n\r\nOne of the students that I worked with this year told me that he had never had a new backpack before; he always got hand-me-downs from siblings or a used donation from a previous school. He was so appreciative to have a choice in the supplies that he could use and has been taking very good care of it so far.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity in supporting our students at HMS.
