Your donation has allowed my students to have access to materials that support communication, sensory regulation, and meaningful participation in ways that are already making a difference.\r\nThe body socks, light table materials, and portable light table have become powerful tools in my therapy room. For students who need movement, deep pressure, or visual input to feel regulated and ready to learn, these resources provide a safe and engaging way to support their sensory needs. When students feel regulated, they are better able to attend, communicate, and participate—and I am already seeing increased focus and willingness to engage during sessions.\r\nThe light table tray, gems, letters, and numbers have also added a new level of motivation and access for students working on language, literacy, and communication goals. These materials allow learning to feel playful and hands-on while still being purposeful. We build light table activities directly into therapy sessions, and students love working with the materials and getting to dim the therapy room lights. This has been especially beneficial for three students who often struggle to participate in small group activities.\r\nOne student working on speech sound production even requested early on that I find a way to incorporate the light table into our sessions. We now use it for hidden picture reveal activities (where students name the picture the light reveals using their best speech sounds), small games like tic-tac-toe, turn-taking practice, and as quick reinforcement for correct sound production.\r\nThe books you donated have also been especially meaningful. Having a storybook centered around AAC allows students to see themselves reflected in the materials we use. These resources help normalize different communication needs and open important conversations about how everyone communicates in their own way. For students who use AAC or struggle with speech, this representation builds confidence, understanding, and self-advocacy. The apraxia book has been crucial in supporting one of my students and has opened me up to many new ideas and approaches for targeting goals.\r\nYour generosity has helped create an environment where students feel supported, capable, and included. These materials are not just tools—they are bridges to communication, regulation, and connection. Thank you for investing in resources that truly meet students where they are.","fullyFundedDate":1764789147424,"projectUrl":"project/regulation-on-the-road-to-communication/9764804/","projectTitle":"Regulation on the Road to Communication","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4469781_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1495594250180","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4469781"},{"teacherId":4469781,"projectId":9953398,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my DonorsChoose project, Print, Play, Communicate. Because of your generosity, my students now have access to materials that are already making a meaningful difference in their learning, confidence, and communication.\r\n\r\nThe tools I've been able to create are having an immediate impact. My students are more engaged, more willing to participate, and genuinely excited to use materials that have been designed specifically for them. One student, who has historically been very difficult to engage, has absolutely lit up when working with the hands-on materials I've created for therapy activities and sensory bins. I've worked with him for several years, and this is truly the first time I've seen him consistently engaged—smiling, asking questions, making requests, and interacting with purpose.\r\n\r\nI've also been able to create personalized sensory tools for students who need support with emotional and sensory regulation. Having access to materials that meet their individual needs has increased motivation and independence during sessions, and it's incredibly rewarding to watch students participate more confidently and independently.\r\n\r\nOne especially meaningful project I'm currently working on is a custom paper grip for a student who wears a brace on her arm. She is often embarrassed and reluctant to participate in classroom activities. Involving her in the design process—listening to her thoughts and feelings about how this tool could help—has not only supported her language goals, but has also given her confidence and ownership. Knowing that this tool will help her participate more comfortably is already making a difference in her day-to-day school experience.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, having the right tools changes how they see themselves as learners. They begin to understand that their challenges are not a reflection of their abilities, but a signal that they need different supports to be successful. Your generosity helps remove barriers, encourages self-advocacy, and creates opportunities for growth, connection, and joy in both the therapy room and the classroom. That kind of impact goes far beyond the materials themselves.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in their potential. Your kindness and support truly matter, and I am deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1766168092841,"projectUrl":"project/print-play-communicate-3d-supports-fo/9953398/","projectTitle":"Print, Play, Communicate: 3D Supports for Speech & Sensory Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4469781_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1495594250180","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4469781"},{"teacherId":10217044,"projectId":9641699,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for your generous donation of bilingual dictionaries for my students. These dictionaries have had such a meaningful impact. Students are able to work more independently, with the tools they need to look up words on their own rather than relying on teachers or friends in the classroom. As a result, their confidence has increased and they are willing to participate in discussions by asking questions and sharing thoughts on given topics such as historical events or scientific experiments. As students' vocabulary grows with using the dictionaries it allows them to express their ideas more clearly with their friends in discussions during center time.\r\n\r\nI am attaching some pictures of student work samples after using the dictionaries for their writing brainstorming activity. Students also like to keep them near as they work on independent work in case they come across an unknown word. In previous years, students have had to share the few copies we have of the bilingual dictionaries. Now, each student has access to their own book to take with them throughout the day. Thank you so much for caring about children and their education.","fullyFundedDate":1758221302523,"projectUrl":"project/language-support-word-to-word-bilingual/9641699/","projectTitle":"Language Support: Word to Word Bilingual Dictionary","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gregg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10217044"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_44329","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":474,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":77,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":44329,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Leslie Fox Keyser Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Leslie Fox Keyser Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/warren-county-public-schools/leslie-fox-keyser-elementary-school/44329"}
