Recently, during a reading project, I watched a student who normally struggles to stay seated for more than a few minutes sink into a cozy seat, deeply engrossed in a book for thirty minutes straight without a single distraction. Having ownership over where and how they sit has given my students a sense of independence and has noticeably boosted their focus and stamina.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are diving into our next big research and writing unit. My students will be using these flexible seating spots to gather in peer-review pairs, brainstorm ideas, and draft their final projects in environments that suit their personal learning styles.
