I love that so many students can gather around the table amd have conversations about what we are learning. They may feel like they are just playing, but they are making real life connections to the stories and curriculum we are learning. This week, we learned about shapes. I was able to pour foam shapes into the tray for the children to sort. These trays keep everything off the floor, which means less time cleaning up and more time playing. \r\n\r\nMy students love water play, and I can't wait to set up some 'muddy' pigs who need a bath during our farm unit! \r\n\r\nThank you for helping me create a hands on learning center into the classroom. This easel has quickly become so much more than an art station—it has become an extension of our lessons and a special place for our students to explore, create, and express themselves.\r\n\r\nOur students use the easel to experiment with mixing colors, explore different painting techniques, and bring characters from our favorite books to life through art. We love watching their faces light up when they discover that mixing two colors creates something completely new or proudly point to a painting they created themselves.\r\n\r\nFor some of our students, communicating their ideas with words can be difficult. The easel gives them another way to communicate—to show us what they know, what they enjoy, and what they imagine. Seeing a student who may not always have the words to express themselves proudly make a mark on the paper and then look up with a big smile is a reminder of just how powerful creative learning can be.\r\n\r\nThis simple easel has created countless opportunities for our students to build fine-motor skills, practice communication, explore sensory experiences, and most importantly, experience the joy that art brings. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a classroom where every child has a way to participate, create, and feel successful. What may look like simple play to someone else is actually filled with learning—building fine-motor skills, communication, problem-solving, social skills, and independence.\r\n\r\nThe sweetest part is seeing the excitement on their faces when they discover something on their own. This stem toys has been a huge hit! My students is who nay typically alone have joined in on the fun as well! I love hearing their giggles as they collect the balls and put them back into the tube. We have been able to talk about colors, practice our counting, and have used this interactive toy to practice valuable skills such as sharing and cooperative teamwork. I am excited to use it during our wind unit, because it is going to be the perfect hands on activity. We will be coloring tiny paper kites, and I will tape them around the pipes so we can see how wind works, no matter the outside weather! They love it so much that I have to hide it at times!
