The students came into our new classroom with mouths opened in awe. When I explained they could sit wherever they want to sit and learn, they were in disbelief. The students in each block began to settle into the new floor chairs and grab lap desks to learn and others gravitated to the cafe seating. Students in each block have been fully engaged and concentrating on their assignments. The \"cozy vibes\" classroom has led to really great conversations and collaboration amongst the students, reduced frustrations and curbed behavior challenges. \r\n\r\nSome students who had difficulty sitting in one place all day are now calmer and eager to participate in class discussions. They are able to focus better and construct meaningful conversations about the text we're reading or writing about. The administrator stopped by one day to see if we were all settled into our new classroom and she commented that she was pleasantly surprised and very impressed to see how focused and engaged the students were. She stated that she also liked the warm calmness in the room. \r\n\r\nThanks to amazing donors such as yourselves, my students are gaining the confidence they need to be successful. This space allows the students to engage with not only myself but with each other, and in a way that is less intimidating and calmer. They are enjoying their new \"cozy vibes\" classroom.
