Your funding of Scholastic News magazines transformed our literacy block, making reading growth an exciting, hands-on experience for every student.T\r\n\r\nhe high-interest, nonfiction articles provided by Scholastic News significantly supported our students' reading development. We observed noticeable improvements in comprehension skills, as students engaged deeply with relevant, current events and scientific topics. The structured format helped students practice identifying main ideas and supporting details, which are foundational skills necessary for success in all subjects. Furthermore, the engaging content motivated even reluctant readers, increasing overall reading fluency and classroom participation.\r\n\r\nBeyond the academic gains, Scholastic News created a crucial bridge between school and home. Students were so excited to take their magazines home and share what they learned. Many parents and guardians reported that the arrival of the magazine sparked spontaneous reading sessions and meaningful conversations around the dinner table. This opportunity for students to share the text and read it aloud with loved ones reinforced their learning and instilled a greater appreciation for reading as a family activity.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom. Your support ensures that our students are not just learning to read, but are becoming confident, lifelong readers who can share the joy of literacy with their entire community.","fullyFundedDate":1701882175972,"projectUrl":"project/3rd-graders-need-scholastic-news/8034495/","projectTitle":"3rd Graders Need Scholastic News!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Land","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6201363_orig.jpg?crop=1169,1170,x0,y448&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1700067865376","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6201363"},{"teacherId":9216425,"projectId":9517393,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our project to bring new and engaging materials into our classroom. They enjoy using the Emotional Regulation Sentence Building cards to discuss feelings and to make silly sentences for fun! The domino creations set, magnetic blocks, and stacking blocks are all popular choices that the students get to choose from each morning. Each student has their own playdoh to use and are learning to play in new and creative ways!\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, their excitement was like it was a birthday party!
