In my Economics and Personal Finance class, students replaced traditional Monopoly money with real paper checks, writing them for the first five transactions and keeping a register throughout the game. Using the check reinforced the unit on banking and brought everyday financial skills to life in a way that actually stuck. In my Introduction to Business and Marketing classes, students used the buttons maker to build comic book awards and the play dough to emphasize the four economic systems. The comic book lesson involved students using Canva AI to help build their comic books. Students in each class voted on the best storyline, characters, and teamwork, with buttons awarded to the winners. The playdough also helped bring economic systems to life. Student made \"worms\" and were able to experience the advantages and disadvantages of each economic system. As a bonus, the playdough became a go-to fidget tool during instruction afterward. It was definitely a win-win, and I plan to weave it into future lessons.\r\n\r\nThe button maker will be used in our upcoming marketing unit, where students will design business logos to press onto the buttons. I also plan to use it in Personal Finance to create certification buttons for each unit to awards to students who pass their course certification tests as a badge. These resources have transformed the energy in my classroom.
