These shared texts have made it possible for students to read the same book at the same time, discuss it with peers, and learn how to think more deeply about what they read. Through these book clubs, students are practicing important skills such as identifying themes, analyzing characters, using text evidence to support their thinking, and listening and responding thoughtfully to others' ideas.\r\n\r\nReading in my classroom is active and student-centered. Students read independently and with their book club groups, stop to discuss key moments, ask questions, and make connections to their own lives and the world around them. Instead of simply answering questions at the end of a chapter, students are learning how to have real conversations about books—agreeing, disagreeing, and building on one another's thinking. These discussions help students grow not only as readers, but also as confident communicators.\r\n\r\nThis project has helped create a classroom culture where reading is something students look forward to and feel proud of. Having access to these book sets has made it possible for all students to fully participate, feel included, and experience the joy of reading together. Thank you for supporting literacy in such a meaningful and lasting way.","fullyFundedDate":1760369820802,"projectUrl":"project/pages-with-purpose-building-stronger-re/9455487/","projectTitle":"Pages with Purpose: Building Stronger Readers & Writers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gysa"},{"teacherId":5458952,"projectId":9455366,"letterContent":"Because of this project, I am able to provide snacks such as fruit snacks, Cheez-Its, and Goldfish to my fifth-grade students each day. For many of my students, having access to a snack during the school day makes a meaningful difference. Some students come to school without one, and hunger can make it difficult for them to focus, participate, and do their best learning.\r\n\r\nNow, I am able to make sure that every student who needs a snack can have one, no questions asked. I have already seen how this support helps students feel more comfortable, cared for, and ready to learn. A small snack often helps students re-energize and stay engaged during lessons, especially in the afternoon.\r\n\r\nThis project has also allowed me to support students beyond my own classroom. At times, students from other fifth-grade classrooms come to my room to ask for a snack, and I am grateful that I am now able to help them as well. Thank you for making such a practical and meaningful impact on my students' daily school experience.","fullyFundedDate":1755736725683,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-fun-snacks-to-learn-treats-to-e/9455366/","projectTitle":"Fuel & Fun: Snacks to Learn, Treats to Earn!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gysa"},{"teacherId":5458952,"projectId":9424180,"letterContent":"Our new classroom rug has already made such a difference for my students! Every day we gather together on the rug for morning meetings, read-alouds, and group discussions. Having this shared space helps create a sense of community and gives students a comfortable place to focus and participate. One favorite moment so far has been watching the class come together during our read-aloud—everyone seated close, listening, and eager to talk about the story. It's clear that the rug has helped transform our classroom into a more welcoming learning environment.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, this rug will continue to be at the center of our daily learning routines. Students will use it as a space for partner talks, small group lessons, and class projects where we share ideas together. There are also student jobs that have been created to keep it vacuumed each day. It has already become our classroom's gathering place, and I know it will support countless moments of learning and connection throughout the year.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for making this possible for us—you've given us more than a rug; you've given us a place where learning and community grow every day.","fullyFundedDate":1752103783755,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-and-community-a-new-carpet-for/9424180/","projectTitle":"Comfort and Community: A New Carpet for Our Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gysa"},{"teacherId":5458952,"projectId":9415522,"letterContent":"Our class has been so fortunate to receive these new books, and I wanted to share a little of what they've done for my students.\r\n\r\nMany of our donors love reading, but what they may not see is all the skills and lessons that come alive when children dive into new texts. With these books, we've been able to introduce strategies like analyzing characters' choices, identifying themes across different stories, and building stronger vocabulary in context.
