While many donors may think of technology as screens or apps used at home, micro:bits allow students to create with technology instead of just consuming it. Students learned how coding controls real-world outcomes by programming lights, buttons, sensors, and movement, helping them build a deeper understanding of how software and hardware work together.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students was seeing their code come to life instantly. Writing a few lines of code and watching the micro:bit respond with lights or animations made learning feel like magic. This immediate feedback boosted confidence and encouraged students to experiment, problem-solve, and keep trying even when things didn't work the first time.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were initially shy or unsure about coding quickly warmed up to the micro:bits. Students who don't always speak up in class became leaders during club time, proudly sharing their programs and helping peers debug code. For many of our girls, this was their first experience feeling successful and confident in computer science, and it sparked curiosity, creativity, and a belief that they belong in STEM.\r\n\r\nThis project didn't just teach coding skills — it helped students see themselves as creators, engineers, and problem solvers.","fullyFundedDate":1761081923900,"projectUrl":"project/think-it-code-it-make-it-happen/9818620/","projectTitle":"Think It.
