Students have been so excited to see them in the music room and to try them out.\r\nSpecifically we have begun using the new drums in conjunction with what we already had in third grade to build beginning skills in 2-part playing. Our third graders have so many more opportunities now to put their hands on instruments and I am finding that they are having so much more success at the skill faster than ever before because of having so much more playing time on drums. In fact, there are many classes who already can play in canon without my support! \r\nOur Stinger Ensemble is also enjoying the additional drums and will get to showcase them at Swarmapalooza at the end of our third and fourth quarters, as well as in their spring concert. \r\nOur next steps with the drums is building more playing skills in the K-2 classes and adding them into 4th and 5th grade classes as we start our creative process projects.
