Because of your generosity, our elementary students are already putting these new resources to use in meaningful and creative ways.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the ChompSaw, their excitement was immediate. Many had never used a real building tool before, and they were thrilled to learn that they would get the opportunity to design and safely cut their own creations. There were lots of curious questions, big smiles, and students eager to get started.\r\n\r\nOur first project was a collaboration between the library and our art teacher. After reading a book about cats together, students used templates to trace a cat head onto cardboard. Then, using the ChompSaw, they carefully cut out their shapes. The room was full of focus and excitement as students took turns using the tool and encouraged one another. Afterward, they took their creations to art class where they painted and finished their cats. Seeing their ideas come to life from tracing to cutting to painting was incredibly rewarding for them.\r\n\r\nThe engagement during this project was amazing. Students were proud of their work and immediately began asking what they could build next. The Inventor's Workbooks will help guide our next steps as we begin exploring more of the design process, brainstorming ideas, planning projects, building prototypes, and refining their creations.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our students are gaining hands-on experiences that encourage creativity & problem-solving.
