You have absolutely made an impact in the students learning! \r\n\r\nAs mentioned in my proposal, the students in the classroom benefit from small group instruction. Because of your generousity, we have enough stools for two teacher tables in the room which allows us to conduct two small groups at a time. Our math class is taught completely in small group rotations and as a result, both my co-teacher and I can see every student every day, and provide \"in the moment\" instruction and feedback. This has been game changer for many of the students that find math challenging. We also utilize both small group spaces for our reading groups, which allows every student to interact with one of us during independent reading/reading group time. \r\n\r\nThe materials you provided have been invaluable. Not only do we use them on a daily basis, but they are fun for students and give them an opportunity to work with materials not always available to them. We use the clipboards everyday in math as students work in pairs when not in a teacher group. The graph paper was clutch during decimal division, it helped the students keep their work organized and clearly see where they needed to move the decimal. One of my reading groups used the index cards to make a story board for the sequal they created to a book we read as a group. They were so energized, it was inspiring to watch. We used the markers and pens to create geographic maps of Ancient Mesoamerica as a way to better understand and retain the concepts. Many of the students in the class come from countries once part of Mesoamerica so this helped them gain more understand of where their families/ancestors came from. \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your generous gifts! We will continue to find new and creative ways to engage the students and help them to better grasp and retain key concepts.","fullyFundedDate":1759421000702,"projectUrl":"project/5th-grade-creative-small-group-centers/9555567/","projectTitle":"5th Grade Creative Small Group Centers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Buckhorn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9709972_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754603533059","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9709972"},{"teacherId":403226,"projectId":9122759,"letterContent":"New books, made available through generous donations, have profoundly and positively impacted students by significantly expanding their background knowledge and broadening their horizons. Access to a diverse and updated collection of non-fiction and culturally relevant literature allows students to explore subjects beyond the immediate scope of their curriculum. This influx of fresh resources offers different perspectives and deeper context on history, science, current events, and global cultures. For example, a student interested in marine biology can access the latest research and vivid imagery , while another can delve into biographies that offer personal accounts of historical figures. This broadened exposure is critical because a rich foundation of background knowledge is directly correlated with improved reading comprehension and critical thinking skills across all academic subjects. When students encounter new vocabulary or complex ideas in their textbooks, their donated books often provide the necessary context to make sense of the material, effectively making learning more cumulative and less frustrating.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, the new collection has been a powerful catalyst for increasing student engagement in reading and learning. The updated and varied selection ensures there's something for every interest level and reading proficiency, transforming the library and classroom shelves into inviting spaces of exploration rather than daunting rows of outdated texts. Contemporary books often feature more modern design, relatable characters, and diverse narratives that resonate deeply with today's students, making the act of reading feel less like an assignment and more like a personal choice. This heightened engagement is evident in increased library circulation rates, more frequent classroom discussions, and a palpable excitement among students when new titles are introduced. When students are genuinely interested in what they're reading, they are more likely to spend dedicated time on the material, practice their literacy skills without prompt, and seek out further information, fostering a lifelong love of learning and curiosity that extends well beyond the classroom walls.","fullyFundedDate":1749767153429,"projectUrl":"project/open-a-book-open-a-world-a-classroom-l/9122759/","projectTitle":"Open a Book, Open a World: A Classroom Library Upgrade","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Winter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/403226"},{"teacherId":1856465,"projectId":9045003,"letterContent":"We are sincerely grateful for your generous support. Thanks to your contributions, we are able to provide our students with carefully selected book sets that will play a vital role in their educational journey.\r\n\r\nThese book sets are more than just reading material — they are powerful tools designed to spark curiosity and motivation in our students. By engaging with diverse and enriching content, students will not only develop a love for reading but also build a stronger foundation of background knowledge across various subjects. This expanded knowledge base will empower them to connect ideas, think critically, and confidently explore new topics. These books will also help to get students excited about reading and learning. Much of our curriculum is centered around short articles but we also want students reading longer books to work on connecting ideas and building stamina. These books go across genres- they will help with teaching point of view, main idea and theme. \r\n\r\nWith your help, we are opening doors to learning opportunities that inspire creativity and lifelong curiosity. Your support is directly contributing to nurturing motivated, well-informed learners who are better prepared for academic success and future challenges.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this meaningful impact possible.","fullyFundedDate":1738879227291,"projectUrl":"project/title-i-school-needs-new-book-sets/9045003/","projectTitle":"Title I School Needs New Book Sets!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Duff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1856465"},{"teacherId":9581723,"projectId":8992114,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my classroom.
