Last year, my students had destroyed the seat covers that were given to me by another teacher. They were either torn, or written/drawn on or cut with scissors...it was a mess. This year, I wanted my new Kindergarten students to come in and not have to worry about what someone had done to the seat covers.\r\n\r\nWhen we started last week, I told the class about how someone had bought us new seat covers that we will use for our Chromebooks and headphones. We went over how we will not draw on them with pencils, crayons, dry erase markers, glue, etc. When we bought out the boxes, their eyes got so big and they were so excited to see them individually wrapped. Then by the afternoon, we had made name cards and put them on their seats. I also showed them how it was going to look once we start using our Chromebooks and headphones next week before testing. The pockets are deep enough that the computers do not stick out and the headphones can be put into the other pocket and not drag in down too much. \r\n\r\nOur next steps are to dive into using new seat covers and keeping our Chromebooks and headphones safe and not getting torn up!","fullyFundedDate":1746851247204,"projectUrl":"project/covers-for-our-chairs/9204439/","projectTitle":"Covers for Our Chairs!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bryan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp239028_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1499904505463","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/239028"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_34734","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":516,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":65,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":45.1,"schoolId":34734,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Schoolfield Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Schoolfield Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/danville-public-schools/schoolfield-elementary-school/34734"}
