I let the students open the packages themselves and they had so much fun trying to guess what we would create with all of the new supplies. They were especially excited about the POSCA markers. Since they are a more expensive art supply, many of my students had never had the opportunity to use them before.\r\n\r\nWe are currently making monster pinch pots in ceramics, and the yarn has already inspired so many ideas. My students are excited to use it for monster hair, clothing, and accessories. Some of my more crafty students are even planning to knit tiny clothes for their monsters! The pastels and charcoal pencils will also be used for future drawing and mixed media projects, giving students opportunities to experiment with shading, texture, value, and different artistic techniques. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for supporting our classroom and giving my students access to materials they might not otherwise get to experience. Your generosity gives them the opportunity to experiment with new art supplies, explore their creativity, and turn their ideas into something they can actually see and hold. The easels, drawing boards, and silverpoint materials have made a real difference in how my students see themselves as artists.\r\n\r\nThe easels especially have changed the atmosphere in the room. Most of my students are used to working flat at a desk, so standing at an easel feels different right away. It makes the experience feel more authentic — more like what they imagine \"real artists\" do. That shift in environment has boosted their confidence. I've noticed students taking their time more, stepping back to evaluate their work, and being more intentional with their decisions.\r\n\r\nThe silverpoint project has been a completely new experience for most of my students. The first day we used the materials, there was a lot of curiosity — and a little nervousness — when they realized the marks can't be erased. You could feel them thinking more carefully before each line. Everything has made a huge impact to the way my students work in the classroom, and what they have access to.
