As you can see from the photo, the books you donated became the anchors in our \"Dive Into Reading\" themed reading corner. These high-quality materials have excited and engaged my students to explore beyond the grade-level curriculum content many fascinating discoveries about the ancient civilizations of Greece, Rome, Egypt, China, and Mali. Several students have wanted to share what they've learned from some of their favorites of these selections in a \"Book Talk\" with their classmates. \r\n\r\nIn addition to their enjoyment of these nonfiction texts, the new fiction titles have quickly become classroom favorites as well. Students have loved having many of their favorite series such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Cat Kid, Harry Potter, and Goosebumps and enjoy recommending books to one another. As third grader readers their confidence, stamina, and independence with reading has really bloomed this year — and your donation has helped fuel their motivation to keep reading! In a time when it is so easy for their attention to be pulled in multiple directions through the help of a device, it is so refreshing to see that so many of them still love having their \"nose in a book\"!\r\nThank you again for your generosity in supporting my students this year, and for years to come!","fullyFundedDate":1753043207301,"projectUrl":"project/when-we-read-deep-we-dream-big/9463650/","projectTitle":"When We Read Deep, We Dream Big!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Palmer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10079767_orig.jpg?crop=587,587,x0,y39&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752544961970","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10079767"},{"teacherId":10289084,"projectId":9765095,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your contribution to our recess materials at Sunrise. Our 1st grade Bobcats have loved the new and updated materials. \r\n As recess begins each day, they race to line up and wait for the \"shed helpers\" to bring out the crates of materials. Kids immediately start putting on dragon and butterfly wings and run off making up imaginary names and roles. Students grab balancing materials or use jump ropes. The foam airplanes have been a big hit as kids shoot them up in the air to fly in loop to loop circles before they crash to the ground. Students have taken responsibility not only to clean the inside of the shed but also to keep it organized at the end of recess each day. \r\n We have only brought out 1/3 of the materials so far. We will bring out new materials after our Winter Break and then rotate new materials out again after our Spring Break. The students will love having new materials to explore, to challenge them physically, and to spark their imaginative play. We have even had students who want to make their own in Google drawing and then move them over! That's the most creative use that I've seen in a long time.\r\n\r\nIt's been helpful to the other third grade classes, too, because they can just send me what they need printed and have a student pick them.\r\n\r\nThis project has been right on time due to our school color printer being out of commission for the last two months!","fullyFundedDate":1755692640688,"projectUrl":"project/all-inked-up/9599814/","projectTitle":"All Inked Up","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnston","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msjclass"},{"teacherId":5415650,"projectId":9516370,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, our students now have access to a new collection of board games and puzzles in our library. It has been incredible to watch their social skills blossom as they collaborate, practice sharing, and use new vocabulary to describe their creations.\r\nOne of my favorite moments was when a group of students worked together to \"bake\" a birthday cake for a classmate, complete with pretend candles and a happy birthday song. This play-based learning is building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and strengthening language development in ways that feel completely natural and fun.\r\nLooking ahead, we'll continue using this space to support early math skills like counting ingredients and measuring, as well as storytelling through role-play.
