They all gathered around to watch it cut the boxes we customized. Each student in the school makes and wraps an ornament to take home for their family for the holidays. The kindergarteners made a handprint ornament that was awkward to wrap so I designed custom-sized boxes to hold their gift and we wrapped them in paper they had printed themselves.\r\n\r\nThird through sixth grade folded their own gift bags to hold the ornaments they made. We used our Cricut machine to cut fancy gift tags for their bags and then painted them. As our final project before the December break, I designed traditional Christmas-light tracers for students to create strings of Christmas lights on black art paper with oil pastels. \r\n\r\nWhat a wonderful addition to our school and art program. I am going to run a training for the staff so we can create bulletin boards to brighten our school. Students are already benefitting from the precision-cuts made with our machines. Thank you for your help in the purchase of this machine. It will be well used by students and staff, alike.","fullyFundedDate":1729204532550,"projectUrl":"project/cricut-maker-3-multi-medium-precision-c/8704550/","projectTitle":"Cricut Maker 3 Multi-medium Precision Cutting Machine","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Julie Kelley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9487189_orig.jpg?crop=484,484,x80,y129&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1709747149811","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9487189"},{"teacherId":9487189,"projectId":8266642,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to purchase new volleyball net stanchions. We had been using a draped badminton net that ran wall to wall but could not be centered and created unequal courts. Not ideal!\r\n\r\nNow we have independent stanchions that we are able to anchor to the walls over center court. The gym is divided evenly in half. The net is adjustable in height for all different age groups allowing K-2 to play with beach balls over a lower net while 3-6 play with a 7' net that allows them to learn to spike with success. We can also create tension on the net so it is fairly even all the way across rather than drooping in the middle. \r\n\r\nOur 5th and 6th grade teacher reported that her students shared how much fun they had in PE this week! I think we have created some lifelong fans.","fullyFundedDate":1713142982149,"projectUrl":"project/volleyball-stanchions-for-multi-purpose/8266642/","projectTitle":"Volleyball Stanchions for Multi-purpose Space","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Julie Kelley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9487189_orig.jpg?crop=484,484,x80,y129&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1709747149811","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9487189"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35394","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":90,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":77.6,"schoolId":35394,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cavendish Town Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cavendish Town Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/vermont/two-rivers-supervisory-union/cavendish-town-elementary-school/35394"}
