Many of the students immediately wanted to use the stools and even said they liked them better than regular chairs. The response was so enthusiastic that we had a class conversation about the difference between a want and a need—and how everyone gets what they need, even if they may not always get what they want. After some practice, the students have done a wonderful job taking turns and sharing the materials when another student needs them.\r\n\r\nI have already noticed an increased attention span in many of my students because of these new materials. They are able to release some of their extra energy in a more appropriate and productive way. The wobble stools also help build core strength, which can support students in remaining engaged and ready to learn for longer periods of time. In first grade, these are skills we are continually working to develop.\r\n\r\nYour donations are appreciated and are being used every day. We cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. Your support truly makes a difference in the lives of so many children and helps create a classroom environment where students can focus, learn, and feel successful.","fullyFundedDate":1789786889576,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-student-success/10348458/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. M.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4411848_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y371&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716290618019","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4411848"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35110","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":248,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":35110,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fair Haven Grade School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fair Haven Grade School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/vermont/slate-valley-unified-union-school-district/fair-haven-grade-school/35110"}
