These markers, colored pencils, craft sticks, pens, and modeling clay will give my students the tools to create, experiment, build, and show what they have learned in ways that go far beyond a worksheet or textbook.\r\nIn science we have been learning about the Sun, Earth, Moon, and eclipses by creating 2-dimensional models. They have worked and have already in groups and have already created posters modeling the phases of the moon and solar and lunar eclipses. For some students, being able to physically build a model is the moment when a difficult science concept finally clicks. For others, it is the chance to discover that they are creative, capable, and good at something they may not have realized before. Having enough materials for everyone means that every student gets to be part of that experience.\r\nThe impact of your generosity will reach far beyond this one project. These supplies will be used throughout the school year for science models, STEM activities, demonstrations, and creative ways for students to show their understanding. The Ergo Bounce Chairs have been especially exciting because they give students a comfortable seating option while allowing them to move a little as they work. The new seats have really helped those students that need extra movement options with their 504 accommodations. The privacy folders help students stay focused during independent work and assessments, while the dry erase boards give us a fun and easy way to practice skills, show our thinking, and quickly check for understanding. Even the glue sticks and Kleenex are classroom essentials that we use regularly throughout the school year. These supplies may seem simple, but together they make a big difference in our classroom. \r\n\r\nThe students were very excited to see the new materials! The Ergo Bounce Chairs were definitely a favorite. They were eager to try them out and loved having a new seating option. The dry erase boards also quickly became a favorite because students enjoy being able to write, erase, and try again without worrying about making mistakes. It was fun to see their excitement over supplies that help make our everyday learning more engaging.\r\n\r\nWe will continue using these resources throughout the year as we work through our sixth-grade curriculum. Students will use the dry erase boards for math, science, and review activities, and the privacy folders will help them stay focused during independent assignments and assessments. The flexible seating will give students another option for finding a comfortable way to learn and stay engaged. We have many lessons, activities, and projects ahead, and these resources will be used again and again. Students designed and built their own imaginative creations showing where they would eat green eggs and ham. It was incredible to see their creativity take off as they planned, constructed, and shared their ideas. We then used the materials again to create scenery for our upcoming class opera. Students worked together to design and build pieces that help tell the story, turning our classroom into a stage full of color and imagination.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. There were smiles, wide eyes, and lots of eager questions about what they could create. They were highly engaged from the very start and couldn't wait to begin building.
