I spent time this summer researching material for this new class on TPT. There was A LOT of information to look through. Looking through all this material, knowing I would be able to purchase a big chunk was very helpful. Reading through the many ideas on TPT helped me narrow my focus on what and how I wanted to teach this Musical Theatre class. I found some awesome lesson units that helped shape the direction of my curriculum sequence. I spent every penny on this class and was so excited for the materials I got. I spent a lot of time reading through the unit plans and made a decisive decision on what to purchase to make that $100 go the furthest - I didn't just put anything that looked good in my cart.\r\n\r\nI am thrilled to report that the following two months have been a success. I have been teaching 2 sections of this class and my students are fully engaged. Two units in particular that have been incredible are the unit I bought about Musical Theatre History and the unit about the 5 elements of dance. Both units came with incredible slide show presentations with video links embedded. This saved me HOURS of work time and gave me an amazing teaching tool. My classes are now working on their own choreography project with a new background of information of HOW to choreograph differently based on these 5 elements of dance. I have students who dance in private studios outside of school AND students who have never danced before. They have been able to build skills based on their level and improve. I really am so excited about how this class is rolling out and I think it will become a popular elective to take. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for for you generosity. These materials have helped me present strong material and be a better teacher!","fullyFundedDate":1749471093761,"projectUrl":"project/choreography-curriculum/9356999/","projectTitle":"Choreography Curriculum","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Barnett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10036162_orig.jpg?crop=148,148,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747424896084","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10036162"},{"teacherId":9997302,"projectId":9252374,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support with my \"Empowering Young Minds: Biographical Picture Books for Junior High\" project. The change of pace and the opportunity to pick their topic was good for them, and for me! Your generosity has provided me with binders to organize my materials, a jumbo articulation drill book, vocalic /r/ cards, a category sorting game and cards, and sequencing verb tense cards. These resources are exactly what I needed to start building a strong foundation of therapy materials at our brand-new junior high, which had nothing in place before.\r\n\r\nAlready, these supplies are making a huge difference. The binders have allowed me to print off other resources for my students and organize them as needed. The articulation drill book and vocalic /r/ cards give me the tools to target tricky sounds in engaging ways, while the category and sequencing cards make it easier for my students to build vocabulary, grammar, and storytelling skills.\r\n\r\nStarting at a school with no materials is overwhelming, but because of your support, I now feel more prepared to meet the needs of my students. These resources will continue to benefit them for years to come, and I am so grateful for the solid foundation they've given my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1746464460612,"projectUrl":"project/keep-talking-keep-growing/9295844/","projectTitle":"Keep Talking, Keep Growing","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Davis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9966529"},{"teacherId":9966529,"projectId":9248936,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding my project! Because of your generosity, my speech therapy classroom now has a wonderful collection of books for every season and holiday.\r\n\r\nI'm using them in both individual therapy sessions and in my life skills classroom group lessons. The stories give us endless opportunities to practice vocabulary, descriptive language, sequencing, narrative elements, grammar, and comprehension. They've also opened the door to meaningful discussions around social and emotional skills—things my students really need practice with in a safe and supportive way. On top of that, the books are perfect tools for working on articulation and help to change up our therapy routine.\r\n\r\nUsing these books makes therapy more engaging, and it gives me a natural way to tie in real-life connections. These books are making our sessions richer, more interactive, and so much more fun.\r\n\r\nI'm truly grateful for your support. The materials you provided—like the inferencing and context clue cards, conversation starter dice, recordable answer buzzers, social skills cards, sequencing and describing cards, and the articulation mouth puppet—have already made such a difference in my room.\r\n\r\nI'm excited to use the buzzers in the life skills classroom. They will allow all the students to participate, including those who are nonverbal and unable to communicate on their own. The conversation dice and social skills cards have sparked some really fun group discussions, and it's been great to see students open up and connect with each other in new ways. The sequencing and describing cards are helping them to improve their narrative skills. The articulation mouth puppet has been so helpful in allowing me to give a visual description of how to form the sounds each of my students are struggling with. \r\nHaving these tools has made our sessions feel more engaging, playful, and meaningful. I can already see students gaining confidence in how they communicate. Thank you so much for supporting my students and giving them these opportunities.
