Your contribution of potting soil, plastic pots of various sizes, and other growth mediums has made a real difference in our classroom. These materials allow students to experience hands-on learning about nature, science, and sustainability. Every time we do something hands on, the students light up and are so excited to be involved in science. \r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our students can explore the life cycle of plants, understand the importance of caring for our environment, and develop a deeper appreciation for the world around them. These experiences will stay with them for years to come!\r\n\r\nWe truly appreciate your commitment to education and your investment in our students' growth—both academically and literally!","fullyFundedDate":1756330374993,"projectUrl":"project/stem-activities-make-us-grow/9634289/","projectTitle":"STEM Activities Make Us GROW!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bastian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8298285"},{"teacherId":9813783,"projectId":8937184,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding this project. It has had a fantastic impact on our students' ability to rhyme and use cvc words, use spacing skills, try something new if their creation falls or is different than they want it, and the trays have kept our tables and other surfaces clean.\r\n\r\n I am going to go through each one and give a brief explanation of our deepest thank you.\r\n\r\n My students' rhyming skills have increased so much that we hear them rhyming throughout the day unprompted, they just say random rhymes that are accurate. For cvc words we are getting stronger readers everyday as they experience reading and sound together for their first times.\r\n\r\n Their spacing skills are phenomenal and the puzzle and lacing cards have helped with that. When our students are writing now they are not smooshing the letters together anymore and have them spaced beautifully,\r\n\r\n The marble run has helped us with emotions, self- regulation, perseverance, and persistence. A quote from one of my students who used to struggle with self- regulation just today said calmly \"Oh no, it fell over, let me try something new\", and then he proceeded to do something different so the marble would go down to the bottom and not get stuck in the piece that it kept getting stuck in.\r\n\r\n The trays have prompted cleanliness and the students can wash them and/ or wipe them down when they are finished using them. They are so easy to clean and so useful for many things.","fullyFundedDate":1731962839006,"projectUrl":"project/stem-materials/8937184/","projectTitle":"STEM Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Daines","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9813783"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33290","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":718,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":68,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":79.7,"schoolId":33290,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sterling Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sterling Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/tooele-county-school-district/east-elementary-school/33290"}
