This book has been an incredible resource for building key literacy skills while also sparking excitement and creativity in our students. We began each day by reading a new chapter together, followed by at-home reading. Students wrote summaries to practice identifying main ideas, making predictions, and analyzing characters and themes.\r\n\r\nThe project has been especially engaging as students work on a \"Visit Narnia\" travel brochure, where they apply what they've learned about the world of Narnia to persuade others to visit. This creative assignment has encouraged them to think critically about setting, plot, and persuasive writing.\r\n\r\nMany students who usually struggle with reading have shown great enthusiasm for the book, and we've seen a boost in their confidence and interest in reading. One student even shared that The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was the first book they finished on their own, which is a huge milestone! Others are loving the chance to use their imagination for the brochure project.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our students are not only improving their literacy skills but also discovering the joy of reading and creative expression.","fullyFundedDate":1756773012184,"projectUrl":"project/unlocking-the-wardrobe-a-journey-into-r/9401833/","projectTitle":"Unlocking the Wardrobe: A Journey into Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bushman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6517650_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749279374508","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6517650"},{"teacherId":7826544,"projectId":8464190,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for your donation to my project. My students have been engaging in the resources you provided. My goal was for them to become civic minded. \r\n\r\nHere are just 2 anecdotes of what we have accomplished this year with your help: \r\n\r\nWe have engaged in several debates and discussions regarding early American history - this has helped the students to see both sides of a situation. This skill is so important in real life - we are surrounded by people who are unable to even listen to both sides of an argument or situation. My students are prepared to listen first, have an opinion (with supporting evidence) second, and third action.\r\n\r\nWe have learned the importance of voice and how we can appropriately use voice when advocating for things we believe in - students learning about how important the voting process is in America, and how our early forefathers fought for the freedom to vote. They learned how important it is to be informed and how we need to use that knowledge when voting.","fullyFundedDate":1729046297254,"projectUrl":"project/early-american-history-quest-and-paying/8464190/","projectTitle":"Early American History Quest and Paying it Forward","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nautu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7826544"},{"teacherId":7733025,"projectId":9014231,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations!
