Many of these ninth graders enter high school feeling overwhelmed, disengaged, or self-conscious about needing extra help. Giving them a comfortable, low-stress space to do their independent work instantly took the sting out of \"remediation.\" Instead of feeling like they are trapped in a traditional detention-style study hall, sinking into a cozy chair lets them drop their guard. They can relax, focus on their assignments, and process their work without feeling micro-managed.\r\n\r\nBecause the atmosphere feels welcoming rather than punitive, my room has turned into a place students actually want to be. They come in ready to work, and more importantly, they are no longer afraid to raise their hands and ask for help. The physical comfort of the space broke down the emotional walls that usually keep struggling freshmen from seeking support. Now, instead of dragging their feet to Tier 2 intervention, they are rushing through the door to grab a spot, get to work, and get the guidance they need to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1785588825135,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/10421339/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. FOMUKE","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8302603"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33285","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1529,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":16,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":75,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":33285,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Park City High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Park City High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/park-city-school-district/park-city-high-school/33285"}
