Through the hands-on process of designing, shaping, glazing, and firing their projects, our students have found a way to externalize their inner worlds—turning complex emotions and personal histories into something symbolically tangible. By supplying our classroom with various glazes and ceramic tools, students have been able to learn a variety of glazing techniques through a series of ceramic projects, including layering and underglazing. Students have worked through simple pinch pots to more complex double pinch pots for monsters, slab building for mugs and soup bowls, while also adding coils.\r\nYour generosity directly facilitated...\r\nA Therapeutic Space - providing the various glazes and tools necessary for students to explore and share their stories in a safe space\r\nMindfulness & Healing - supporting a curriculum that prioritizes emotional reflection and having the courage to share through creative expression\r\nEmpowerment - giving students the tools to tell their stories on their own terms, culminating in a public exhibition of their work\r\nEach ceramic work created is now a permanent symbol of a student's strength and self-awareness. By helping us bring this project to life, you haven't just helped fund an art class—you've invested in the resilience and wellbeing of young people who truly need a voice. Through this, we will be able to continue this project through several semesters...impacting more students and adding to the collection being displayed in the foyer of our building as well as exhibiting in the local school districts' Arts Festival.\r\nThank you for believing in the power of art to share stories and help heal.","fullyFundedDate":1755689256133,"projectUrl":"project/shaping-stories-creative-connections-t/9556552/","projectTitle":"Shaping Stories: Creative Connections through Ceramics","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bea","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8190926"},{"teacherId":10461878,"projectId":10147083,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our students through Donors Choose!
