I'm grateful for the differing level of books there are to meet all the needs of my students. They do partner reads or read them individually. They love the comic book style as well.\r\n\r\nMy students have loved being challenged by the STEM toys. Students are challenged to work in groups cooperatively and create structures assigned to them. They get to practice creating/building with various student in class and problem solving when working with others or on difficult structures. \r\n\r\nThe large sticky note chart paper has been used to create many various anchor charts related to various science and social studies units. to hang around the room. We have also used them to do shared writing projects on for writing informational paragraphs about books we read, such as Seven Blind Mice.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher I have read half of The Will to Learn. I have applied several ideas into my classroom this year. One idea was MGC's, Making Genuine Connections. It is a strategy I have implemented and I feel it has strengthened my relationship with my students in return they have more of a desire to learn. I absolutely love the book so far! I can't wait to finish and read The Writing Rope when I am done.\r\n\r\nThe LCD's boards have been a big hit. We have been practicing 'heart' words or irregularly spelled words on them.
