These leveled readers will allow my students to successfully read independently which allows for better comprehension and fluency. When students are presented with a variety of texts that they can choose from, they are more likely to enjoy their reading experience. Student choice and interest is essential to reading success. Students need to be able to find books they are interested in and can relate to in order to make better connections to the stories that they are reading. A leveled library will more easily allow students to choose appropriate books at their levels. By encouraging reading at an early age we creating life long readers.

About my class
