Your support for the project, \"Connecting for Calm: Bilingual Translator for Social-Emotional Learning and Skills,\" has aided in transforming the way I connect with and support my Spanish-speaking as well as refugee students.\r\n\r\nThe Anfier Translation device and the three coping skills workbooks—have immediately been put them to use. The real-time translator has been a true gift in my office as I attempt to connect with all English language learning students I work with. Previously, there were emotional and cultural nuances that were often lost in translation, creating stress and limiting the depth of our conversations. Now, students who primarily speak other languages can express their worries, anxieties, and triumphs to me in their native language, which have been easier for many of them. This assistance has not only facilitated communication but, more importantly, has helped built trust and rapport.\r\n\r\nChipping away at this communication barrier is very helpful, as we work towards building resilience and Social-Emotional support. The \"Teens Workbook for Self-Regulation,\" \"Beyond Coping Skills,\" and \"The ACT Workbook for Kids\" help provide structured, age-appropriate lessons that I am able to use and review with students while using the Anifer Translation device. We are working on concrete strategies to manage stress, identify emotional triggers, and develop healthy coping mechanisms—skills that are essential for success in school and in life.\r\n\r\nYou have aided in giving a voice to many diverse students and assisted in providing tools to help achieve emotional calm and competence. This is a profound investment in their well-being and future success.\r\n\r\nThank you, from the deepest part of my heart, for empowering our students and for being a true partner in making our school a more inclusive and supportive place.\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1758815312977,"projectUrl":"project/connecting-for-calm-bilingual-translat/9394137/","projectTitle":"Connecting for Calm: Bilingual Translator for Social-Emotional Learning and Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Youngstrom","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3111540"},{"teacherId":9620320,"projectId":9022364,"letterContent":"My students eat these items as a snack as part of the After-school Program. We make sure every student has something to eat when they stay with us and participate in our activities. These include school work, academic lessons, community sponsored classes, sports, other physical activities, art, and crafts. I have tried to get all of the kits as close to 200 calories as I can, and I paired something dry with something fruity and a drink. Some of the kits have a granola bar, a GoGo Squeeze, and apple juice. Other kits have gold fish, fruit snacks and a water.\r\nWhen I told my students we got almost $1,000 in snacks, they were so surprised (we didn't always have snacks last year, so telling them about all the snacks we had, they were so excited). Then I showed the students the picture of all the snacks laid out on the table, and they literally cheered; they are looking forward to the GoGo Squeeze, Gold Fish, and Cookies the most. Or at least I think that is what they are most excited for as those were the things they shouted out about. Of course, they were also ready to open all of it right then and there (but I have them put away so no one can see them, except for the waters; I couldn't fit all of them in my cupboard).\r\nMy next step is to make sure I have all of the kits fully assembled in single sandwich bags. We will go through the Nature Valley Granola bar kits first, and then i'll have a few different types of kits every day and some days where the kit is all the same with a few random things for students who can't eat some of the snacks.\r\nToday, they had Nature Valley granola bars, a fruit snack, and water. After snack time, we went to the Girls' Soccer game to support our school. When we came inside is when I showed them all of the snacks we received from the donation. Then they had some free time to write thank-you notes and play some games on the Chromebooks with their friends.","fullyFundedDate":1746785883528,"projectUrl":"project/help-wanted-food-for-hungry-teenagers/9022364/","projectTitle":"Help Wanted, Food for Hungry Teenagers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Neibaur","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9620320_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y256&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722570341441","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9620320"},{"teacherId":3111540,"projectId":8682357,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my students now have access to a variety of resources that are helping them develop essential coping skills.
