In our classroom, reading is dynamic, joyful, and deeply collaborative! Having these new titles allows us to launch rich, whole-class book studies where every student is literally on the same page. Together, we dive into shared texts to learn key skills—like identifying character motivations, making grounded predictions, analyzing theme, and practicing active note-taking. Best of all, once our class study is complete, students get to take these books home to keep forever and build their very own personal home libraries.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this approach was immediate, especially for our reluctant readers. Completing a book study together builds shared background knowledge and confidence, so when students take the physical book home, they feel a deep sense of ownership and pride. For many of my students, having brand-new, high-quality books to add to their home bookshelves is a huge milestone that encourages reading outside of school hours. Thank you for giving my students these shared literary experiences and the gift of book ownership—your generosity is helping foster a lifelong love of reading both in our classroom and in their homes!","fullyFundedDate":1788566365489,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-reader-identity/10263062/","projectTitle":"Building a Reader Identity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hunt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1535393_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x510,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1556597608490","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/grhs"},{"teacherId":8280102,"projectId":9939562,"letterContent":"I want to express my deepest gratitude for your incredible generosity in funding our classroom snack project.
