Both of these things were accomplished through the novel.\r\nThe students were able to delve into research projects stemming from the novel, letters, and video of the civil rights movement. It was by far the best unit we have had involving standing up for yourself and others.\r\nTwo students who were especially impacted were Blaine and Waylon. Both students were engaged in reading and doing the projects.
