These binders give them a dedicated place to record their progress monitoring results in Acadience Reading and Math, helping them take ownership of their academic growth in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nHaving their data right in front of them empowers students to quickly see where they are improving and what skills they still need to focus on. Instead of waiting for teacher feedback alone, they can check their past scores, recognize trends, and set goals for the next progress monitoring session. This level of independence is something they are incredibly proud of.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a classroom where students are more engaged, more reflective, and more motivated. We were able to use the black out tent to help a student who was overly stimulated to go inside and reset. We were also able to send some of our students to the large hammock chair to get the whole body sensory input while swinging and get some of the extra wiggles out.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited to see the new materials. I had students that ran and jumped into the tent and 2 students at once who tried to climb into the hanging chair. All of the materials where super helpful and needed for our little friends. \r\n\r\nWe will be using social emotional learning to teach our kiddos some self regulating exercises that they can use with the tools in the calming room. These tools are so critical to aid our friends to self regulate their little bodies that they are still trying to figure out how to behave with the big world around them.","fullyFundedDate":1755755609617,"projectUrl":"project/give-me-a-break-when-i-am-over-stimula/9610634/","projectTitle":"“Give Me a Break” When I am Over Stimulated","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nielsen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1398990_orig.jpg?crop=2721,2721,x20,y403&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753122173295","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1398990"},{"teacherId":1398990,"projectId":9614686,"letterContent":"Our ASC program here at Hill Field Elementary School is so grateful for your donation. We have started the Little Spot program here at Hill field Elementary School to help our students recognize and identify their behaviors and the behaviors or feelings of others to help aid in their social and emotional regulation skills. In the K/1 classroom we are becoming feelings detectives and learning how to recognize our emotions and feelings. As our students move up in grade levels they are building on the complexity of the skill, feeling or emotion and how to apply it. The skill has been helping them to regulate so that they can then choose skills to help them in turn regulate their emotions.\r\n\r\n We introduce the spot in our room and then identify the emotion. We also use the plush with the kiddos as they love the visuals. We completed some spot worksheets where we made our detective spot and used our magnifying glasses to explore the room searching for emotions and feelings with our visuals throughout and students and/or staff. Reading has to be visual and interactive as I have littles and 65% of my students are nonverbal on AAC devices. \r\n\r\nI have 2 students in particular who love the books. They will work hard all day for a few minutes break with the books to look at. My students are familiar with the program and see the spots in their environment that when they were able to access it, they do with great abundance. One of my students will constantly take the books off of my desk!","fullyFundedDate":1755755509458,"projectUrl":"project/a-little-spot-on-in-social-emotional-l/9614686/","projectTitle":"“A Little Spot On” in Social Emotional Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nielsen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1398990_orig.jpg?crop=2721,2721,x20,y403&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753122173295","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1398990"},{"teacherId":10184971,"projectId":9616460,"letterContent":"Thank you for the mobile whiteboards! My 2nd graders use them daily for math group work—solving problems, sharing strategies, and explaining their thinking. When they first saw them, they cheered and couldn't wait to write. Now they're creating their own word problems to teach each other. The mobile whiteboards have become an essential part of our 2nd grade math lessons, especially during group work. Students gather around the boards to solve problems together, explain their thinking, and try different strategies. One of my favorite moments was during a lesson on two-digit addition with regrouping. Each group used their mobile whiteboard to show their step-by-step process, debate strategies, and present their final solution. Even students who are usually hesitant raised their hands to share at the board, proud of the work they had created as a team.Your gift has boosted teamwork, confidence, and joy in learning.
