With the Rode Wireless Pro microphones, our online therapist can both hear and record the most detailed audio from either a single student or a small group all at the same time. Students are no longer tethered to the much lower quality headphones that the schools can afford on their own. Our students get to move around the classroom, engage in everyday activities all while practicing their speech. This helps our students generalize their skills and grow in confidence that their instruction is tailored to the exact difficulty they are experiencing. With these microphones, our Speech Pathologist is able to hear nuances that just aren't possible otherwise when performing online therapy. This small differences make a massive difference when it comes to identifying exactly where their tongue and other articulatory structures are when they can't be seen. For the kindergarteners the donated books provided engaging age-appropriate stories that captured their attention and supported early literacy development. For my ninth graders the project offered an authentic teaching opportunity.
