I strive to create a great classroom library that meets the reading needs of all my special education students. They deserve having positive interactions with books and this project helped achieve that. It also helped create better organization with the new bookshelf! My students love having more options for what they want to read that day. I have a wide range of reading abilities, and it's been so helpful to have books that are in the middle and on the higher end. My students especially love all the graphic novels that were purchased by your donations. Thank you for helping my students find joy in reading!","fullyFundedDate":1752765029665,"projectUrl":"project/ms-makenzies-classroom-library/9333407/","projectTitle":"Ms. Makenzie's Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Makenzie Fontano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10026297"},{"teacherId":10164222,"projectId":9564467,"letterContent":"The materials that I got from my donors through DonorsChoose has been such a positive help for me and my students. When students come in for counseling in my office, the walls are lively and inspiring. They love the Little Spot of Feelings plushies. They help make emotions more concrete and fun to talk about. The visual timer has been extremely helpful for setting time limits without any complaining or confusion. I plan to use the sticky situation cards to help facilitate conversation about SEL skills in my class lessons. A Kids Book About Trauma is a great resource to have available for students who have experienced significant hardships. The fidgets (not pictured) were already distributed across the school for teachers to have for students needing help with focus or comfort. For example, one student struggling with anxiety has a fidget available in his classroom to use when he starts to notice signs of worry and withdrawal. Thanks again to everyone who supported my project. Even though the items may not seem like much, they truly helped me to feel like I had the resources that I was missing that I needed to kickstart this year as a school psychologist. I am better able to support the unique needs of my students and help them develop the social-emotional skills crucial for their healthy development.","fullyFundedDate":1755748834894,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-cozy-fun-environment-for-neu/9564467/","projectTitle":"Creating a Cozy, Fun Environment for Neurodivergent Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pacheco","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10164222_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y772&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754691028566","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10164222"},{"teacherId":8279885,"projectId":8600360,"letterContent":"I am writing to extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous donation to our Native American and Heritage Days Fourth Grade Events. Your support provided much-needed materials that turned this event into an extraordinary, enriching experience for all of our students. The supplies you donated were not only useful but truly brought our lessons to life, giving the children hands-on learning opportunities that they will remember for years to come.\r\n\r\nOne specific moment that stands out is when we used the art supplies to create Native American-inspired crafts. As soon as the students saw the colorful materials—beads, feathers, clay, and fabric—they were immediately excited. Their faces lit up as they eagerly began crafting their own creations, which helped them connect deeply to the cultural lessons we had been learning. It was amazing to witness their enthusiasm and creativity flow as they made their own small works of art, all while learning about the history and traditions of Native American tribes.\r\n\r\nThe materials you provided also allowed us to dive into other engaging projects, including creating heritage timeline posters, which not only deepened their understanding of history but also fostered collaboration among students. We even had a chance to host a small exhibit for parents, showcasing their work, and they were so proud to present their efforts.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue using these materials as we explore more aspects of Native American culture and other historical topics. The next steps in our classroom will involve students writing reflective essays about what they learned from this experience, which will help them synthesize the lessons they have gathered from both their hands-on activities and research.\r\n\r\nYour donation has made a lasting impact on our classroom and has helped us bring history to life in ways that textbooks simply cannot. The students are incredibly grateful, and it has been a true joy to see how much they have gained from this enriching experience.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your kindness and generosity. Your support continues to make a difference in the lives of these students, and we are deeply appreciative of your contribution.","fullyFundedDate":1724875949376,"projectUrl":"project/heritage-days-and-native-american-fair-f/8600360/","projectTitle":"Heritage Days and Native American Fair for Fourth Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chowen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8279885"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32999","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":386,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.3,"schoolId":32999,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Centerville Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Centerville Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/davis-school-district/centerville-elementary-school/32999"}
