Your generosity brought so much joy and excitement into our classroom. Because of you, my students now have their own headphones with microphones, flexible seating cushions, and a treasure chest full of meaningful rewards like Etch A Sketches, slime, bookmarks, and coloring books.\r\n\r\nThe students absolutely *love* having their own headphones—it's helping them focus during lessons, work independently, and feel proud of the tools they're using. The seating cushions have quickly become a favorite option as well, giving students the freedom to choose a comfortable spot and take ownership of their learning environment.\r\n\r\nAnd the treasure chest? It has become pure magic. Watching students light up when they earn and choose a special item has been one of the highlights of our year. These small rewards have made a big difference in motivation, confidence, and joy.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped us create a classroom where students feel comfortable, empowered, and excited to learn. The rolling cart has given us easy access to materials while keeping everything neatly stored in our small classroom. The zipper pouches have helped my students keep their word study materials together and ready to use, making transitions smoother and learning time more efficient.\r\n\r\nThe colorful plastic storage caddies allow us to keep daily supplies in one place, eliminating the need for bulky school boxes on each child's desk and giving us more room to focus on learning. Our new magnetic anchor charts keep important references visible and off the floor, making it easy for students to find the support they need in one central spot.\r\n\r\nThe addition of two colorful clocks has helped my students better understand how to tell time by clearly showing the numbers as well as the hour and minute hands. The 10-drawer rolling cart provides organized storage for additional supplies and manipulatives, giving students quick and independent access to tools that support their learning. And my new rolling teacher desk has opened up more classroom space, allowing for greater flexibility in seating and learning arrangements.\r\n\r\nEach of these resources has made a meaningful difference in our daily routines, creating a classroom where students feel empowered, supported, and excited to learn. Your support has made a meaningful difference in our learning environment, and we are so grateful.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our classroom is now filled with opportunities for movement, choice, and comfort. For 6-year-olds, sitting still for long periods can be quite the challenge—but with our new flexible seating options, my students are able to stay focused while still getting their little jiggles out! Whether they're rocking, wobbling, bouncing, or simply choosing a spot that suits them best, each child now has the chance to learn in a way that works for their body and mind.\r\n\r\nThe smiles, increased engagement, and improved focus I've seen since implementing this seating are a direct result of your generosity. First grade is such a fun year, but also a year where they are learning to read at different levels, that's why these books you funded for us have been such a great resource! I now have a library that meets all the needs of every child in my classroom. \r\n\r\nI have to tell you, my students absolutely LOVE the phonics adventures books we got. My students are learning so many diffident rules in phonics, when a short vowel is short, how to determine if a vowel is long, the many sounds of y, the big one learning c and g make a soft sound (talk about a mind blowing experience for them) these stories are perfect when helping them learn the rules and they truly look forward to hearing the phonics adventures books as you will be able to see in our pictures. \r\n\r\nYou gifted us with several of my favorite chapter books like The Littles, Zoey and Sassafras and The Magic Tree House. I'll share a little secret with you the best way to push those little babies to the next reading level is to introduce a chapter book in small group and the idea of reading a chapter book all by themselves really peaks their interest in reading. We are currently reading The Littles in one of my small groups and the kids are loving it! They can't wait each day to see what's going to happen next in the story, if the mice are going to be seen etc. As an avid reader myself there's nothing more satisfying than to be able to share these little moments with my students. While not all my students are ready to read a chapter book it doesn't stop them for being able to enjoy Zoey and Sassafras in our daily read aloud, again the kids were so excited to move from a \"regular book\" to a chapter book, they look forward to our daily read aloud even more now. \r\n\r\nReading doesn't always come naturally for students, and some students begin to lose interest in Reading because they are aware they can't read at the same level as most of their peers and that's where the sight word readers you gifted us come in handy. It allows me to put books in our centers that every child can read so that even my struggling readers can have the confidence boost they need to see and hear themselves reading a book all on their own. My students get excited to grab a donut or yoga ball, a book buddy and a sight word book and cuddle up and read stories to themselves. They often come running to me to show me a hard word they read, or a phonics rule they noticed in their story and the joy in their faces is amazing to see. \r\n\r\nClass 1-2 is so grateful for all the materials you sent us and because of these resources they are excited to visit the writing center to practice building words, come to small group, do reading centers and listen to a good read aloud. Thank you again for bringing this project to life for my students!","fullyFundedDate":1734099469245,"projectUrl":"project/engaging-and-educational-classroom-libra/8696434/","projectTitle":"Engaging and Educational Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mendoza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8019732_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667516004404","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8019732"},{"teacherId":7612185,"projectId":8632486,"letterContent":"Your generosity via Donors Choose mad a profound impact on my students by providing essential materials focused on STEAM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) education.
