Students will have in their hands, one of the tools necessary to understand how things are made. With the assistance of the engineering design, students will be able to think it, plan it, and create it with the freedom of knowing that if it doesn’t work the first time they can learn from any mistakes and keep trying until successful. The skills learned from STEM Education will enhance student engagement. Having students working together to complete common tasks will encourage collaboration where each student contributes and shares in a sense of accomplishment. The first 3D pens activity I would do with my kids would be making catapults to include the history of why they were invented.
