Through your support, our class was able to receive much needed classroom supplies that have helped in our academic progress. \r\nOne of the items received, the stacking stools, have been used daily while my students are at my teacher table for small group reading, phonics lessons, or simply working on independent reading or writing. They love them!\r\nWhile the other items received have been used by my students, the rolling cart and dry erase markers have come in handy. The cart is where we store our school supplies which keeps them organized and in a central location. The students also use the dry erase markers daily as they write their sight words. We've been using these wonderful resources to bring stories to life, helping our kinder life skills students engage with literacy in a hands-on and interactive way.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite moments was when we acted out The Three Little Pigs using the puppets. The students took turns being the different characters, practicing sequencing, communication, and teamwork. It was incredible to see their confidence grow as they used the puppets to retell the story in their own words.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students' faces lit up with joy! Many of them immediately started exploring the puppets, giggling and talking to them. Some students who are typically shy even began using the puppets to express themselves, which was a heartwarming moment.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will be using these resources to continue our storytelling unit, focusing on comprehension skills, role-playing, and social interaction. We plan to create our own class fairytale, where students will use the puppets to act out their original story. Thank you so much for making this possible—your generosity has truly made a difference in our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1738074021845,"projectUrl":"project/spark-curiosity-and-learning-through-boo/9028376/","projectTitle":"Spark Curiosity and Learning Through Books & Puppets for Our Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Arlene Garza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9626462_orig.jpg?crop=240,240,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1735958524637","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/arlenegarza"},{"teacherId":7562823,"projectId":8726422,"letterContent":"Thank you for everything that you do for us teachers and students. Through your help, they were able to practice with their own set of headphones and not have to share or wait while others finished. My students have also been able to use the headphones during their reading block as they use them for their read alouds, sight word and phonics practice. \r\nYour donation also helped us get soft cushions for our classroom library center. My students can now enjoy sitting on a soft cushion while independent or partner reading at the library. They have really enjoyed the cushions!\r\nWhen we received our materials, my students were excited to see a class set of headphones and even more excited to see the soft cushions. This resource has been a game-changer in so many ways. My students have been using the playdough not just for fun, but as a hands-on tool to enhance their fine motor skills, creativity, and social interaction. For example, during a recent art project, students used the playdough to create shapes, letters, and even small sculptures, which helped reinforce their understanding of these concepts while also building their hand strength and dexterity. The excitement was palpable as they worked with the materials, their faces lighting up with pride as they molded their creations.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the playdough, their reactions were filled with excitement and wonder. Some of my younger students immediately dove into molding shapes and making fun designs, while others were a bit more hesitant at first, unsure of what to do. But as we explored the materials together, even those more hesitant students began to engage and participate, finding joy in the process. It was truly heartwarming to witness their confidence grow with each squish and roll of the dough.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to integrate the playdough into more lessons across different subjects, using it to support everything from letter recognition in literacy to understanding patterns in math. We are also working on social skills, where students can use the playdough to engage in group activities, sharing tools and ideas while collaborating on larger projects. This has been an incredible addition to our classroom, and I can't wait to see how it continues to support my students' growth. Your kindness has made a lasting impact, and I am so thankful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1735955032606,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials-shipment-2025-01-0/9028326/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials Shipment: 2025-01-03","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Arlene Garza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9626462_orig.jpg?crop=240,240,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1735958524637","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/arlenegarza"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17555","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":612,"numTeachers":46,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":98,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.0,"schoolId":17555,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rudy Silva Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rudy Silva Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/weslaco-independent-school-district/rudy-silva-elementary-school/17555"}
