They can relax and look up at the ceiling to view the clouds found in the fluorescent light fixtures, and also look at the jellyfish hanging above the bean bags.\r\n The sensory material was hung up in the hallway to assist all students in calming down during transition times. This helped to eliminate misbehavior that had been occurring before putting up.\r\n The students were excited to see the bean bags, and they helped come up with a rotation schedule so that all students could enjoy the bean bags. The sensory material that was hung up in the hallway was a great hit. Students stopped pushing each other and spent time arranging the sequences. \r\n My class helped add the stickers to the wall. Unfortunately, they did not stay up as expected. My students have asked if we could actually draw images of fish and sea creatures and paint them using neon paints. I had previously painted the walls blue and had hung up blue lights around the perimeter of the room.","fullyFundedDate":1763587711732,"projectUrl":"project/ocean-calming-corner/9515663/","projectTitle":"Ocean Calming Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Morales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2833608_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1478297405990","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/estela-morales"},{"teacherId":10237953,"projectId":9675135,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the professional chess sets. Before these arrived, my students were using makeshift boards and online versions. Now, the feel of the real pieces and the professional look of the boards have made them incredibly eager to learn and play.\r\n\r\nWe have reserved time both during and after the school day for students to sharpen their skills and build lasting bonds with their fellow players. Currently, using the boards is a special reward. Just yesterday, I watched a group of students who usually struggle with engagement spend forty minutes completely focused, carefully analyzing every move.\r\n\r\nNow that we have this solid foundation, our next step is to prepare for UIL scholastic events and build a community that fosters even more interest in the game. Your generosity hasn't just given us \"fresh new gear\"—it has given us the momentum to push our students' minds to greater levels of critical thinking.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students' curiosity and their future.","fullyFundedDate":1767710652972,"projectUrl":"project/school-chess-club/9675135/","projectTitle":"School Chess Club","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Aldape","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10237953"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15558","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":569,"numTeachers":55,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":89,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":69.0,"schoolId":15558,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Morales Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Morales Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/uvalde-consolidated-independent-school-district/uvalde-junior-high-school/15558"}
