As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sand Tray Therapist, I have the privilege of walking alongside children who are navigating the deep and often silent pain of trauma and grief. Your kindness has provided me with the tools to make that journey safer, more meaningful, and more inclusive. Through your donations, I have received a sand tray and a collection of culturally appropriate sand tray figurines—each one a small but powerful symbol of representation, identity, and healing.\r\n\r\nIn sand tray therapy, children use these figures to express what words cannot. They build worlds that mirror their inner experiences, giving shape to emotions that are too heavy or complex to speak aloud. Because of your generosity, these children can now see themselves reflected in the stories they create. They find comfort in knowing that their culture, their background, and their voice belong in the healing space. These materials are not just therapeutic tools—they are instruments of hope that help children reclaim their sense of safety, rebuild trust, and rediscover joy after loss and hardship. I have attached a sample image of what a sand tray might look like. Due to confidentiality and ethical considerations, I am unable to share actual trays created by clients, but this example offers a glimpse into the powerful and creative process your generosity supports.\r\n\r\nYour support reminds me that healing is not something we do alone—it is something we nurture together. The compassion you have shown extends far beyond the walls of my therapy room. It reaches into the hearts of children who are learning that they are seen, valued, and worthy of healing. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in this work, for believing in these children, and for helping me continue to create spaces where healing and hope can grow.","fullyFundedDate":1767999229427,"projectUrl":"project/healing-sands/9999873/","projectTitle":"Healing Sands","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Quintanilla","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10097603_orig.png?crop=256,256,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753737614248","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10097603"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16452","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":364,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":91,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":50.9,"schoolId":16452,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Legacy Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Legacy Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/uvalde-consolidated-independent-school-district/flores-elementary-school/16452"}
