All my students are always looking forward to the book celebration at the end of December as we finish reading the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Students get to respond to a writing prompt, compare the movie and the book using a Venn Diagram, work on bubble gum fractions, and even create their own candy invention! When we received the board games requested in the project (Connect 4, Operation, Plink-O, Guess Who?, Chess, etc) they left the boredom behind because they were so entertained by them. They played with one another, so this project brought community building and teamwork as well. We read three books about the 100th Day of school and they took the AR quiz. I ordered different reading level books, so everyone is enjoying them. Students read independently and with partners. When done, they worked on a book activity. Before the day ended, they loved the 100 Day snack and their certificate. Instead of viewing numbers as abstract symbols, they could physically move a slider to \"jump\" between integers, making the concepts of distance and sequence tangible. The breakthrough was evident in their smile as they realized they could physically see the relationship between numbers. These resources have leveled the playing field, ensuring every student, regardless of their learning style, feels capable and included.\r\n \r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the classroom erupted in excitement. Students with sensory processing needs were immediately drawn to the textures and vibrant colors of the manipulatives. One student sat quietly for several minutes, simply tracing the raised markings on the number line before beginning to plot their first coordinates.
