The students were able to plant their seeds right around Earth Day, not only did they learn about the importance of taking care of our planet, but also the impact plants have in our lives. As the days progress they will be able to view the life cycle of a plant and learn how to carefully take care of one. Next year's students will also be benefiting of the green house and all the gardening supplies, we will begin to plant earlier in the year so that the students may have a garden all year long.","fullyFundedDate":1774379564447,"projectUrl":"project/watch-them-grow/10167002/","projectTitle":"Watch Them Grow!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mante","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9880142"},{"teacherId":9880142,"projectId":9874367,"letterContent":"Once again, thank you for your kindness. My students have been able to benefit from the donated materials, in many different forms. Some of the materials were used as enrichment tools, to help struggling students practice skills they were lacking on. Other materials have been used as centers, where the students were able to work together as a team. What I believe makes your donations even better is that they not only help this years' students, but future generations will be able to benefit from them as well.","fullyFundedDate":1768503296955,"projectUrl":"project/independent-and-creative-minds/9874367/","projectTitle":"Independent and Creative Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mante","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9880142"},{"teacherId":9825007,"projectId":10169241,"letterContent":"This week we are planning for Earth Day on April 22nd. We have been talking about different ways to help keep our Earth nice and clean. We also talked about the importance of planting trees and more plants. \r\nWe decided to plant some flowers in class and show the students how important it is to give plants what they need. They will learn patience and will be accountable for putting water two times a week. The students were very excited to be planting them on their own, of course with supervision.","fullyFundedDate":1774963602188,"projectUrl":"project/blooming-minds/10169241/","projectTitle":"Blooming Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lazcano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9825007"},{"teacherId":7611035,"projectId":9942467,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous contribution to our classroom project. Your decision to fund both healthy snacks and our new book collection has had a profound and immediate impact on our daily learning environment. In our classroom, we strive to meet the needs of the \"whole child,\" and your gift has allowed me to do exactly that—both physically and academically.\r\n\r\n It is a fundamental reality of teaching that a hungry brain cannot focus on complex tasks. Many of our students have long gaps between their meals, and energy levels often dip during our most important instructional blocks. Having a reliable stash of healthy snacks has completely transformed our classroom environment. Instead of restlessness and fatigue, I now see students who are settled, focused, and ready to engage. You have provided the literal fuel that makes our academic work possible, ensuring that every child has the energy to give their best effort.\r\n\r\n Your kindness has created a ripple effect. When a child feels cared for with a snack and inspired by a great book, their confidence soars. You haven't just provided supplies; you've helped foster a culture where my students feel seen, supported, and excited to come to school every day. These books will be read by many hands for years to come, and the snacks are making a difference in our focus right now.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of all my students and myself, thank you for being a champion for our classroom. We are so lucky to have you in our corner.","fullyFundedDate":1769177546260,"projectUrl":"project/helping-first-graders-grow-nourishment/9942467/","projectTitle":"Helping First Graders Grow: Nourishment for Minds and Bodies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Garza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7611035_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1773265369945","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7611035"},{"teacherId":9825007,"projectId":9817911,"letterContent":"With your help I was able to create a mini PBIS store to help with classroom management. When I introduced our small ClassDojo store, students were excited to learn how their daily choices could earn points. Even with just a few items, it has become a motivating tool and a fun moment in our classroom routine.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were eager and proud to start earning and saving their points. They often talk about what they are working toward and remind each other to make good choices. Thanks to our donors, students feel encouraged and motivated, and our next step is to continue reinforcing positive behavior while slowly building toward new goals in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758389644398,"projectUrl":"project/work-hard-earn-big-our-class-store-adv/9675847/","projectTitle":"Work Hard, Earn Big: Our Class Store Adventure","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Livas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10238489"},{"teacherId":9880142,"projectId":9015063,"letterContent":"We truly appreciate the wonderful gifts you gave our class. The students were very excited to use the materials, specially the magnetic building blocks, they got the opportunity to become very creative with that one. I would say the funniest reaction was when I opened the box with the tissues, I did not know kids would be so happy to receive tissues. Our classroom is very cold and we go through them fast. The color pencils allowed them to transition from crayons and made them feel like big kids (their words not mine). The glue sticks also came in very handy, since they somehow always manage to disappear, for next year seriously considering giving them names so that students want to take care of them more. These are just a few examples of the positive impact your help had in our classroom, for next year we have so many ideas and plans which we hope you will be a part of.","fullyFundedDate":1739371417725,"projectUrl":"project/bright-minds-bright-futures/9015063/","projectTitle":"Bright Minds, Bright Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mante","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9880142"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_8394","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":724,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":97,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.3,"schoolId":8394,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Barbara Fasken Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Barbara Fasken Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/united-independent-school-district/barbara-fasken-elementary-school/8394"}
