We used it for our \"let's investigate\" theme and more in particular to talk about how things move, about pushing and pulling. But... the children (and also me, to be honest) were having so much fun with it that we kept it for a couple more weeks. This was such a popular center that we had to create a waiting list so that everybody could have a turn with it. \r\nAt the beginning, they were making very simple circuits. However, in a couple of days they were making very complex circuits, experimenting with speed and testing how they could hit a target with the foam balls. I was blown away at how much they learned with this and at their creativity and curiosity. They tried things that I would not expect from a 4 year old, like changing the speed so that the ball would hover over the tube when it came out instead of just coming our at full speed, or testing how many balls the engine could push up at the same time. \r\nAs a bonus, they have been working together, helping each other out and collaborating better than ever. \r\nThank you so much for making this possible. This is a great addition to our classroom. We had to rotate the toys so that the new ones are linked to our new themes, but we will bring it out at least more time before the end of the year, and many more years in the future!!","fullyFundedDate":1757811350386,"projectUrl":"project/building-our-stem-ina-part-2/9685917/","projectTitle":"Building our STEM-ina (Part 2)","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tiemblo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7607025_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1603028523908","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7607025"},{"teacherId":7607025,"projectId":9304468,"letterContent":"Thank you one more time for making this project possible\r\nWhen I created this project my goal was to help my students (4-5 year old) to see beyond their own world. At that age, it is hard to understand that some times we have to do things for other people. After reading a few books about sharing and how to be kind, we starting working on this project. It fit perfectly into our \"community\" theme. And I have to say, that they got very excited about it! We have a very kind group of children that love sharing and helping others. When we told them they could not keep the bracelets, they asked \"why\" (quite a few times). However, after explaining why, and how the bracelets would make other people happy, they were also happy to share them.\r\nGiving the bracelets and drawings away was very fulfilling for them, actually. They felt happy and even proud about it.\r\nAnd it has also created a change in our classroom dynamics. They are kinder to each other, more willing to help and work together. As a teacher, I have to say that this has created a very positive impact, not only on our community but also on the classroom culture.\r\n\r\nThanks for making this positive change possible!","fullyFundedDate":1746458546370,"projectUrl":"project/spread-kindness/9304468/","projectTitle":"Spread Kindness","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tiemblo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7607025_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1603028523908","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7607025"},{"teacherId":7607025,"projectId":9263028,"letterContent":"Thanks one more time for your donations and for making this project possible. My students loved all the hands on activities. To them it was just fun. But apart from having fun we practiced rhyming, letter sounds, uppercase and lowercase match, addition, number recognition, shape naming, and a very long etcetera.\r\n\r\nI was also able to access resources for our learning centers. This month we are learning about seasons and we have been able to make a thematic unit about fall and pumpkins. We have turned the science center into a pumpkin lab, we have lands pumpkin shapes, pumpkin letter match, pumpkin seed counting... which apart from teaching reading and math, also allows students to expand knowledge about our thematic unit and link concepts learned in different subjects. Thanks to TPT we have been able to give students the chance to keep learning and practicing their writing, reading and math skills in a more play-based way.\r\n\r\nOne of our new favorite activities has been magic school bus and magic pumpkins, where students have been able to discover letters using a flashlight. \r\n\r\nAnd the best part is that we will still be able to reuse these materials in the next few years, giving the gift of learning while having fun to many more students! \r\n\r\nI can't thank you enough for these wonderful materials!","fullyFundedDate":1752671494196,"projectUrl":"project/creating-resourceful-students-part-2/9263028/","projectTitle":"Creating Resourceful Students-Part 2","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tiemblo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7607025_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1603028523908","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7607025"},{"teacherId":5296004,"projectId":9313417,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom through DonorsChoose! One of our favorite projects so far has been diving into the story \"The Parade That Changed Everything.\" Students explored how the setting influenced the characters and created story maps to illustrate their understanding. We also used discussion groups and turn-and-talks to analyze the text's themes and character development, which kept everyone engaged and excited to share their ideas. When my students first saw the Storyworks 3 magazines, their faces lit up with excitement! They were amazed by the vibrant illustrations and immediately started flipping through the pages to see what stories and articles they'd get to read. One student exclaimed, \"This is like having our own magazine! I can't wait to read all of it!\" Their enthusiasm set the tone for our lessons and made it easy to dive into the content. Currently, we're working on understanding how authors use text structures, such as problem and solution, to organize information. Our next step is to connect this skill to real-world writing by crafting our own problem-solution essays based on the themes we've discussed in Storyworks 3. We'll also be exploring \"I Lost My Tooth in Africa\" to compare how different cultures celebrate important moments, tying this into our ongoing exploration of global traditions. These activities will help my students become critical readers and thoughtful writers, building on the foundation these amazing resources provide.","fullyFundedDate":1715403398661,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-minds-enhancing-litera/8354756/","projectTitle":"Empowering Young Minds: Enhancing Literacy with StoryWorks Magazine!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Striedel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6217911_orig.jpg?crop=2735,2735,x0,y455&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720478112810","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6217911"},{"teacherId":9173350,"projectId":8528849,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity in helping to provide hands-on games for my kids.
