Because of your generosity, my students were able to stay organized, confident, and focused during such an important time.\r\n\r\nMy students were truly excited and grateful to receive brand-new composition notebooks for their STAAR review. Many of them had either lost or completely used up their original notebooks, so having a fresh, dedicated space made a big difference. They loved having room to show their work and no longer had to keep track of loose papers. I saw a huge improvement in how they organized their notes, and they took real pride in keeping their notebooks neat and complete. Even our administrators commented on how organized and prepared my students were during classroom observations!\r\n\r\nOn testing day, the pencils you provided meant more than you might expect. Students were so thankful for this small but meaningful gesture. For the reading STAAR test, they each received a motivational pencil, and for the math STAAR, they received both a motivational and a colorful pencil. My students often struggle to keep track of their supplies, but many of them have held onto these pencils for weeks—they clearly value them.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, I noticed a shift in their mindset. They seemed more relaxed, confident, and ready to do their best. Many students were eager to show their work, excited to use their materials, and truly felt supported and encouraged.\r\n\r\nYour kindness helped create an environment where students felt prepared and believed in. Thank you for making such a meaningful impact on their learning and confidence.","fullyFundedDate":1760180099794,"projectUrl":"project/one-notebook-one-goal/9751362/","projectTitle":"One Notebook, One Goal","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Campos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9122264_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752289695283","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9122264"},{"teacherId":9122264,"projectId":9373461,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our Math Makers: Innovation Zone. Your generosity has truly transformed how my students experience mathematics. From the moment they saw the materials, they were excited—especially since they were used to the traditional paper-and-pencil approach at their desks. The adhesive dry-erase boards instantly became a space where students felt empowered to take risks, share their thinking, and collaborate with one another. They now work side by side, solving problems, supporting classmates, and building confidence in their mathematical abilities. Having a dedicated wall space to showcase their ideas has made them eager to participate and proud to share their learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful (and unexpected) uses of the dry-erase space has been for sharing class math data. Instead of simply writing assessment averages on the board, we now create dot plots showing how many students scored at the Masters, Meets, Approaches, and Does Not Meet levels. This visual representation has helped students better understand their class data and has been incredibly motivating. They are genuinely invested in increasing the Meets and Masters dots and reducing the number below grade level. The paper roll easel and gel pens—by far their favorite—have also encouraged students to slow down, show their work, and take pride in how they present their thinking.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these resources will continue to play a vital role as students prepare for the STAAR test. Now that they have learned each math topic, they are using these collaborative spaces to review, refine their understanding, and even teach peers who are still struggling. Your support has given my students the tools and confidence to truly shine, and I am so grateful for the impact you've made on their learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1758228473381,"projectUrl":"project/math-makers-innovation-zone/9373461/","projectTitle":"Math Makers: Innovation Zone","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Campos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9122264_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752289695283","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9122264"},{"teacherId":9845697,"projectId":9115606,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donation, our special needs learners now have meaningful access to reading through technology that meets them right where they are. The iPad devices have opened doors for students who struggle with traditional print materials, allowing them to adjust font sizes, enable text-to-speech, and read at their own pace without feeling overwhelmed. This accessibility has empowered them to engage with books more independently, fostering both confidence and a genuine love for reading.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students has been the ability to choose books that interest them and personalize their reading experience. One student, who previously avoided reading altogether, now eagerly starts each day by exploring animal-themed books with the help of the iPad's text narration feature. Watching that student smile while navigating a book on their own has been one of the most rewarding moments of the year. Because of you, our classroom is not only more inclusive, it's more inspired. These durable resources give students more opportunities for independent practice, peer collaboration, and immediate feedback, all while saving time and materials in the long run.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most are the personalized stickers and brightly colored visuals we can now use to celebrate progress and highlight learning goals. One student, who previously struggled with staying motivated, now lights up each time they earn a custom sticker or interact with a laminated game board they helped create. The tangible nature of these resources turns everyday tasks into interactive experiences, helping students of all learning styles stay focused, feel proud of their growth, and take ownership of their learning. My students' eyes lit up as they opened the boxes and saw the colorful LEGO sets and animal-themed books. We immediately launched into our first book-club meeting by reading National Geographic Kids: Weird But True Animals and building LEGO models to represent each animal discussed. One student created a giraffe with an extended neck and proudly explained its unique features to the class, while another designed a whimsical version of a jellyfish. These hands-on builds allowed students to visually and physically connect with what they were reading, strengthening comprehension and sparking thoughtful discussion.\r\n\r\nThe next step in our project involves students choosing an animal from one of the books and conducting a mini-research project. They'll use the information they gather to build a LEGO habitat and write a short report to present to their peers. This integration of reading, STEM, and creative expression has ignited a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Thank you for making this meaningful, multi-dimensional experience possible. I wanted to take a moment to share how incredibly valuable the resources you provided are, and how much of a positive impact they are having in my classroom.\r\n\r\nMy students are already making great use of the highlighters, which have become an essential tool in our daily math lessons. They use them to annotate key words when solving word problems, and to draw place value lines, especially when solving multi-digit addition and subtraction problems with regrouping. The highlighters have also been incredibly helpful in differentiating between area and perimeter, a visual strategy I taught last year in 4th grade and their 5th-grade teachers have shared that those students have continued to use this same strategy.\r\n\r\nWe've also been able to use the highlighters in many other creative ways, and I'm excited to see how they will assist my students when we dive into geometry and fractions later this year. It's amazing to see how versatile these tools are and how they support our learning in so many ways.\r\n\r\nThe dry erase circles for my small group table have been a game-changer as well. They help me designate students' workspaces, so we can dive right into learning without the need to distribute additional materials. This small but effective change has made our small group time much more productive, and I can already see how it's enhancing the learning experience for everyone involved.\r\n\r\nMy students absolutely love the materials! It's been so exciting to witness their \"ah!\" moments as they discover how the resources help them understand concepts more clearly and solve problems with confidence. The enthusiasm they bring to class is truly inspiring, and I know these tools are a big part of that excitement.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous donation and your support of my students' education. The difference these resources are making is immeasurable, and I am so grateful to you for helping provide these tools that are sparking curiosity, improving learning, and building confidence in my classroom.\r\n\r\nWith heartfelt appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1715018089371,"projectUrl":"project/creating-brighter-futures/8367067/","projectTitle":"Creating Brighter Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Campos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9122264_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752289695283","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9122264"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105008","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":943,"numTeachers":54,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":73,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":49.1,"schoolId":105008,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Uplift Heights Preparatory Primary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Uplift Heights Preparatory Primary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/uplift-heights-preparatory/105008"}
