Using realia, visuals and manipulatives will highly impact and encourage lower-level students to be more engaged, thereby promoting greater collaboration, communication, creativity, and ultimately a higher level of learning and success in reading, writing and comprehension of language arts. The expectations of this project are to enrich and encourage lower-level students to become more fully engaged in their reading intervention program. This will ultimately end in their successful advancement in reading. The objectives of this project are to provide supplemental materials that will help promote: 1. Student engagement and participation 2. Student growth in language skills (reading, writing, and comprehension) 3. Students' successful advancement in their reading abilities. Once items are purchased, and actively utilized within the reading intervention program as supplemental activities, it will easily be assessed if materials utilized are supporting the students growth, and promoting understanding and learning.
