The devices have allowed us to implement our Reading By Design program in a way that is far more user-friendly and accessible for students with diverse learning needs. Features such as text-to-speech, guided reading supports, visual cues, and interactive practice tools have helped reduce barriers to reading and writing, allowing students to engage with content more confidently and independently.\r\n\r\nIn addition to accessibility, the iPads have made instruction more hands-on and engaging, which is critical for dyslexic learners and students who benefit from multisensory instruction. Students are able to actively participate in lessons through touch-based activities, immediate feedback, and personalized practice, rather than relying solely on paper-based materials. This has increased student motivation, sustained attention, and overall buy-in during intervention time.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the technology has allowed us to better meet the individualized needs of our SPED and 504 students. Lessons can be differentiated in real time, accommodations can be implemented seamlessly, and progress can be monitored more efficiently. The DonorsChoose donation has enhanced not only the effectiveness of our Reading By Design instruction but also the confidence and success of our students as readers and learners.","fullyFundedDate":1760578737899,"projectUrl":"project/ipad-accessories-for-our-sped-classroom/9692782/","projectTitle":"iPad Accessories for our SPED Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Balderrama","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4653391_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745934319025","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4653391"},{"teacherId":7506270,"projectId":9612891,"letterContent":"This project has made a meaningful difference in how my students learn and how our classroom functions day to day. While many donors use printers and storage at home, these tools play a unique role in a classroom setting. The color printer allows me to provide clear, engaging, and high-quality learning materials. Color is especially important in biology, where diagrams, graphs, and models are easier to understand when students can clearly distinguish different structures and processes. Being able to print materials in color helps students grasp complex concepts more quickly and accurately.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is having materials that are easy to follow and visually engaging. Color-coded notes, labeled diagrams, and organized handouts help students stay focused and reduce confusion. The storage bins are equally exciting in a practical way—they help keep materials clearly labeled and easy to access. Students know exactly where to find what they need, which saves instructional time and helps class run more smoothly.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially benefited from these tools, particularly those who thrive on structure and visual organization. Students who struggle with attention, organization, or processing information feel more confident when materials are clearly stored and visually clear. The bins encourage independence, allowing students to take responsibility for their materials, while the color printer supports different learning styles. Together, these resources have helped create a more organized, calm, and supportive learning environment, and my students are truly grateful for the impact this project has had on their daily learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1757544157786,"projectUrl":"project/little-things-that-make-a-big-difference/9612891/","projectTitle":"Little Things That Make A Big Difference!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gill","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7506270"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134496","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":null,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":false,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":134496,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about School of Science & Technical - College Prep on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"School of Science & Technical - College Prep","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/school-of-science-technical-college-prep/134496"}
