Thanks to your help, our class has been able to fully immerse itself in Building Thinking Classrooms. Students work in randomly chosen groups to solve math problems at the whiteboards. They use what they already know, share ideas, and talk through different ways to find solutions. It has been exciting to see them collaborating, discovering new mathematical relationships, and taking pride in their progress.\r\n\r\nAt first, students were a little nervous about this new way of learning. They weren't sure how to begin without step-by-step directions. After a few days, everything changed. Now they ask every day, \"Can we go to the boards?\" They have learned that it's okay to feel frustrated when a problem is challenging and that those moments are part of learning. Watching them grow more confident and determined each day has been truly rewarding.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue to build our Thinking Classroom and strengthen our problem-solving skills. My students are learning to think deeply, work as a team, and never give up when math feels challenging. Thank you for helping make this possible for them!","fullyFundedDate":1753228799717,"projectUrl":"project/stand-up-and-think-building-thinkin/9480556/","projectTitle":"“Stand Up and Think!” - Building Thinking Classrooms in Math","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Van Den Bossche","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7354425_orig.jpg?crop=2408,2408,x242,y566&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1597358852008","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7354425"},{"teacherId":7934811,"projectId":9449916,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of classroom supplies. Your kindness has made a tangible difference in our learning environment, and I'm thrilled to share how your contributions are helping my students grow, create, and thrive.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the supplies arrived, the excitement in my classroom was contagious. My students eagerly unpacked the notebooks, pens, markers, and creative materials, their eyes lighting up with curiosity and inspiration. For many of them, having access to new, high-quality materials isn't something they take for granted — and seeing their joy reminded me how powerful acts of generosity can be.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have already become an essential part of our daily learning. During writing time, students use the new notebooks and pencils to draft personal narratives, persuasive essays, and creative stories. The feeling of opening a crisp new page has motivated even my most hesitant writers to put their ideas into words. Having these materials allows them to focus on expressing themselves instead of worrying about whether they have what they need to participate fully.\r\n\r\nIn addition to writing, your donations have fueled our creativity in literacy projects. My students have been working hard on creating literacy posters that highlight themes from the books we read together, favorite quotes from authors, and key reading strategies. The colorful markers, glue sticks, and poster paper have given them the tools to bring their imaginations to life. Our classroom walls are now filled with their vibrant creations — displays of learning, pride, and individuality that would not have been possible without your support.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has done more than provide supplies; it has inspired confidence and a deeper love for learning. When students have access to the right tools, they feel valued and capable. They know that someone beyond our classroom believes in them — and that message is powerful. It tells them their voices matter, their education matters, and they are worth investing in.\r\n\r\nEvery time I see a student proudly hanging their completed poster or sharing their writing with a classmate, I'm reminded of the impact of your kindness. You have not only supported their education but also helped nurture a positive and creative classroom community. These moments of joy, curiosity, and self-expression are made possible because of people like you who care deeply about students' growth.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us — thank you for making a difference. Your contribution has brightened our classroom and inspired my students to reach for their goals with enthusiasm. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity, and we want you to know that your gift will continue to make an impact far beyond this school year.","fullyFundedDate":1753643121428,"projectUrl":"project/equipped-to-express-fueling-young-write/9449916/","projectTitle":"Equipped to Express: Fueling Young Writers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Madrigal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7934811_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1686267301245","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7934811"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_129377","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":15,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":87,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.8,"schoolId":129377,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North East STEM Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North East STEM Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/north-east-stem-academy/129377"}
